Defensive Ends let rank them for the Boys
Sounds like we will be walking into the NFL Draft hungry for some 4-3 Defensive Ends, let us arrange a menu for Mister Kiffin. The Quality drops heavily after the third rd. Anyone want to rearrange?
Round One:
Bjoern Werner, FSU (the best in draft no argument)
Damontre Moore, Tex A&M (Looks like top ten pick)
Barkevious Mingo, LSU (Started out top pick of draft in Sept)
Dion Jordan, Ore (currently injured 6'6", 243 lbs incredible athlete)
Rd 2
Alex Okafor, Tex
Margus Hunt, SMU (Older and Raw, German, needs coaching up)
Ezekiel Ansah, BYU (Younger and Raw, Ghana, needs better pass rush tech)
Sam Montgomery, LSU (Not RKG according to weight rm supervisor)
RD 3
Corey Lemonier, Aub
Cornelius Carradine, FSU (inj and very good player when healthy)
Jackson Jeffcoat, Tex (inj similar to Alex Okafor in talent)
John Simon, OSU (None Stop never give up smaller size 6'2",260, RKG)
William Gholston, MSU (might be something here to watch)
RD 4 and Beyond
Datone Jones, UCLA
Dominique Easley, Fla
Lavar Edwards, LSU
Michael Buchanan, Ill
Devin Taylor, SC
Malliciah Goodman, Clem

As much as I like some of the 1st round DE's, I really think we should go OL in the 1st. If Warmack or Cooper is available at 18 then go get him. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind taking someone like Dion Jordan or Jesse Williams.

Moore is the guy but he wont be there at 18. Ansah will go round one and could very well be they guy.

I like E Ansah but have a hard time digesting him in the first rd, and lots of the draftnik sites see him as getting plucked in the 2nd because of that lack of a pass rush repertoire. I have predicted him in the first earlier this year but as time goes by he is falling. He will be on the boys radar from day 1 so you are being very realistic. Unless we get Melton DT(he is ready for a big payday) in FA we need a big hit in the draft at DE and a major infusion of youth.
The UFA DEs I like are:
Cliff Avril (too expensive surely)
Mike Bennett (Marty's bro)
Osi

I've personally dropped Ansah into the third. He will go in the second or first depending on how the underwear olympics go. After watching him I just don't like how he plays football.

You must of watched that bowl game where I came away with the same opinion and wondered why I had never heard of that LB for BYU.

I did watch it but I had dropped him before the bowl game. His performance in it just cemented my opinion.

I think you have to eliminate Mingo and Jordan as 4-3 DE's. I think both lack the strength to play the position and should only be considered by 3-4 teams.
With that said I wouldn't hate Ansah or Okafor in the 1st. Wouldn't be my 1st choice to go with either, but I could certainly live with both.
Joe Kruger recently declared and should be getting a little more talk around here. 6'7 280 and surprisingly athletic. 6 sacks and 8TFL this year for Utah. If you like Margus Hunt you should definitely take a look at Kruger. Could be a great 3rd round pick if he doesn't shoot up further.

I think you're too bearish in general. There are several in both Round 2 and Round 3 on your list that almost certainly go in the first. First, I think you're too down on Montgomery. RKG or not, he's the best fit at strong-side end in this draft and will go in the 1st. I also think you're too down on Carradine and Lemonier.
Agree with others that Mingo is a poor fit, although the talent is right.

I agree at 18 you have to make some soup, I do like Margus Hunt just do not like his age. I added Mr Krueger in the third rd. No one thinks we are getting a steal at 18 as the real talent will be gone by pick 10.
Round One:
Bjoern Werner, FSU (the best in draft no argument)
Damontre Moore, Tex A&M (Looks like top ten pick)
Barkevious Mingo, LSU (Started out top pick of draft in Sept)
Dion Jordan, Ore (currently injured 6'6", 243 lbs incredible athlete, little small for DE)
Rd 2
Alex Okafor, Tex
Margus Hunt, SMU (Older and Raw, German, needs coaching up)
Ezekiel Ansah, BYU (Younger and Raw, Ghana, needs better pass rush tech)
Sam Montgomery, LSU (Not RKG according to weight rm supervisor)

I am down on Montgomery only because of the weight room incident, no denying his talent. I think it gives some insight into his mindset if this is true. Montgomery is coming from a 4-3 front at LSU, where he was very strong against the run, but also was an explosive edge rusher.
I am only down on Carradine because of his injury, before his ACL tear, Carradine was looking at going in the 1st round.
Corey Lemonier lacks the bulk and talent of some of the others on the list in my opnion and I have noticed people either love him or have to think about what position he plays. I admit my mind is having a hard time with this 4-3 switch.

Margus Hunt is from Estonia, Werner is from Germany.
Oh and Jeffcoat said he is staying for his senior year.

Thanks for the correction that is a real put down to Margus, I somehow got confused with trying to keep all the players straight in my head.

Larry Webster III from Bloomsburg is someone I like as a late round guy.
Needs a "redshirt" year. Only played 1 year of football after 4 years of basketball at Bloomsburg.

Now that we've switched to a 4-3 I'd be fine with picking Alex Okafor.
