If Von Miller, why not Ware?
Miller had 18.5 sacks this year at OLB. Miller is 6'3" 237 and runs a 4.49/40. Ware has a larger frame and obviously carries more weight at 6'4" 254 runs a 4.56/40.
Why can't Ware stay at OLB and maybe move up to the line on passing downs?

Why though? You have one of the best pass rushers of the last 10 years. You want him rushing the passer on every down If they wanted him dropping back into coverage, they would have stuck with the 3-4

Older now. Supposedly, the 4-3 DE wears down quickly. It also plays to his strengths, he can still rush the passer, but his ability to pursue ball carriers and his sure tackling gives Dallas a good combination that they had during the 3-4, but this might continue that strength with less battering.
Just a thought while watching Miller.

In another thread I put Ware at DE/Will/Jake. They will likely use him like that but I would suspect most of his snaps will be as a DE on the weak side. But they'll move him around, stunt him and line him up in unusual places at times to take advantage of his athleticism.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

I think it would take a unique coach for Ware to NOT be an impact player. Guy is just a beast.

I almost started this same thread the other day. I think that Ware can play OLB. I think it might be a better fit for him at this stage in his career. We can only do that if we are able to find a stud pass rusher. If we draft one we like, I can see this happening.

I like the idea of keeping Ware rushing the ball or stopping the run. He's ok in coverage but HOF at the former two.

Who would be our DE's on running downs?
We have plenty of candidates for OLB. We don't have many to play DE.
Ware is a DE in a 4-3.

Move Ware further away from the ball? That's not a good idea. In Kiffin's defense he wants a WLB that is a tackle machine in the Derrick Brooks mold-that's probably Carter although Lee could do it also. Ware is a better version of Simeon Rice in Kiffin's defense.
