Not really.. it's just that the AFC sucked during those years and DBs could actually play the WRs.

If DBs could play today like they did back then, none of these offenses would work well and WRs like Wes Welker would be blown off the LOS and abused.

don't think it'll work out which would be great from a Cowboys perspective.
I hope Oregon goes back to being a crummy program too.
Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore

I hope you are right on both accounts.

Default Chip Kelly to the Eagles

Dallas better get in shape as Kelly and Vick are a good fit and create lots of pressure on defenses.

every year our fans get scared from the eagles. how has that worked? or is this like every analysist picking the Lions, sooner or later they might win one?

why do you guys fear Philly so much? I ask this every year and no one can tell me or look at the evidence and say "maybe we shouldnt be scared just yet"

Maurice Jones-Drew tweet....

Chip Kelly wasn't gonna let Monte Kiffin get away that easy lol

I'm thinking we grab a play-making safety in the draft... USC's TJ McDonald...Eric Reid...maybe a free agent Jairus Byrd?

Chip Kelly is the right coach for Michael Vick and the Philly Offense.

Kelly is the future when it comes to his 4th down management but fans will be screaming for his head the first time going with the math but against conventional wisdom backfires and costs them a game.

His offense isn't going to be anything special when his talent level is constrained by having to obey a salary cap. It's not going to be 10% faster than the opponent at the next level. Defensively, he better find the best coaches in the business because his college schemes have been nothing short of a joke.

In the NFL, speed is a tool, not a strategy. Kelly will need to adjust if he wants to have any success at this level.
I love this post.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

I think it can work. The NFL evolves. Look at Russell Wilson and Colin K. No one thought a decade or so ago that upwards of 10 QBs would get close to 5000 yards. People are still talking like hurry up offenses are "gimmicky" when in all actuality they are becoming more of a norm. It won't be right away but offenses are finding better ways to attack defenses that got bigger and stronger. We've seen a transition from 1 main RB getting 20-25 carries to RBBC. I definitely can see a time when offenses go to something like Kelly runs. Defenses will catch up. And then we will see another trend. Its the evolution of the league. Especially now with the new DB rules and non-intimidating hits allowed on WRs.
I don't disagree it can be a tool. Running QBs are not a new thing. Some of these 'new' offenses go back to the single wing and are just evolution and innovation and faster QBs. It's hard to defend things you see once or twice a year. But Ds catch up to it and when you make your QB a runner then injuries go way up because of the rules or if you will lack thereof.

If I had my druthers I'd have a guy who can pocket pass top ten, run like the wind and escape like Romo. And of course keep him healthy while doing all that. Good luck with the latter.

But it's not a college offense vs college players, its a college offense vs NFL players.

Just real quick, can someone help me out here?

Why is Kiffin's more relevant resume of a superbowl championship and countless years of top 5 defenses in the NFL being ignored?

Holding my breath on contract talks. Hopefully we can get something done.
