Tony Romo will be known as a good QB.

Good stats.

Not a winner.

He'll finish 4th in the Cowboys QB pecking order:

1) Roger/Troy (tie)
2) Don Meredith
3) Danny White
4) Tony Romo

I'm removing Romo's name from my FFL team next year. No more Wild Romoans.

I think he needs 2 rings just like Philip Rivers whom at this point has slightly better stats than Romo.

Romo/Rivers gotta go the Big Ben and Eli route since their stats are significantly weaker than their peers Peyton, Brees, Brady and Rodgers. Because the game has changed where almost all QBs can put up stats Superbowls are necessary. If you don't get a ring you gotta blow away your peers which isn't happening playing with the previously mentioned QBs.

45,00 yards passing

305 Passing TD's

155 ints

95 career QB rating

Those numbers are excellent and compare to the modern era QB's currently in the Hall of Fame. Remember thats if he only plays (5) more seasons, and at his current average. Note that he would only be 37 in 5 years and his numbers are on the incline. So he could play longer and actually have better numbers. I'm giving these numbers and not mentioning Super Bowl wins.

Look at 2 Hall of Fame QB's who did not win a Super Bowl and see how their numbers compare to Romo's potential career numbers.

Warren Moon
49,000 passing yards, 291 TD's, 233 Ints, 80.9 QB rating

Numbers today are nowhere near comparable to the guys you mentioned who played 20 years ago. Look at the all time highest passing yards in a season...other than Marino's freakish season in the 80s, all of them are in the last few years. This is a much different game than when Moon and Kelly played.

Moon and Kelly had other significance, beyond their #s. Kelly went to 4 straight super bowls, and Moon was the 1st black QB to have his level of success, and was also a superstar in the CFL.

Winning one SB will have minimal impact in Romo getting in the HOF. His perpetual choke-jobs have created an image that will be next to impossible for him to overcome.

The only people who believe Romo has a shot at the HOF are Cowboy homers, even as watered down as it is with less than elite players. Barring an incredible Aaron Rodgers-like next 4 or 5 years, Romo has no more chance to get in the HOF than you do.

You forgot Craig Morton. He's #4 with Tony right behind him. Morton got the Cowboys to Super Bowl V (and lost unjustly due to poor officiating). He also got the Broncos to their first Super Bowl, where they lost to us.

Default OK, OK, the Mens half spoken

Tony has a better chance of being in the Soccer Hall of Fame than in the football Hall of Fame.

Yes, Tony R does have good stats.
Playoff success? Squat.

Does anybody here half hopes that Romo get into the HOF? I do, but that does not mean it will happen. If Danny White did not, then Romo won't.

Mens, what do you think?
Not based on his current body of work, but the book is still open.

lmao @ HOF
1. Brandon Magee will beat out Ernie Sims for the backup WILL/MO roster spot.

2. Ron Leary will start at right guard over Bernadeau.

3. Joseph Randle, Terrance Williams and Gavin Escobar will have more combined TD's than DeMarco Murray, Miles Austin and Jason Witten.

4. Bruce Carter makes the Pro Bowl.

5. The starting OL will be Smith-Livings-Frederick-Leary-Free

Romo is a Cowboy and Cowboys have to be super duper great to get into the HOF. A good question would be, what if Romo played for another team and had the same stats, same number of wins/losses, etc. What would his HOF chances be then?

Oh, okay. So you knew it was a silly question too and you only started this useless thread because you wanted attention. Just as I suspected.

Can we close this crap now?

If Kenny Stabler can't get in, then Romo won't. And don't just look at Stabler's numbers and say he doesnt belong...he was a guy you had to see play. He also was a league MVP and Super Bowl champ. Many people seemingly in the know, like former players and longtime broadcasters, all say its a disgrace that Snake isnt in.

Dear Mr. Jumper to Conclusions: I thought Romo, if he retired today, maybe stood a chance as measured by his dazzling QB ratings and the love shown to him in Dallas.

But he halfing no chance is what the great unwashed half said in this tread.

Reading comprehension is a good thing, so do it.
