Same token, he would still be second in command of the defense under Bradley, since I am sure Bradley will have his stamp all over the defense. Or he can be second in command to a 72 year old DC on a team that may fire its head coach in a year, giving him a chance to return to the Head coach ranks.

IIRC, coaches contracts do not have an effect on the salary cap. I could be wrong.

But then we would still be in the 3-4. No thanks.

If this is the case then Jerry needs to fire Jason NOW. What a complete an utter mess.

You would have complained about hiring a coach like Ray Horton because of the scheme?
I don't agree with your logic there.

“@calvinwatkins: Filed to http://t.co/wdOSSelB Rod Marinelli is visiting Cowboys officials today at Valley Ranch.”

Looks like he is at VR.

I wasn't implying salary cap. Jerry is known to not pay for assistant coaches, so instead of Marinelli already signed on the dotten line, he might have delayed the signing to see what else is available. I am just speculating...

What else is available? Who's a better option than a man who just coaches a top defensive unit? A DC at that. He's beyond over-qualified.

It does appear he is in the building today from Watkins article. It doesn't look like the columnist is just throwing crap against the wall like Clarence Hill

The Jaguars are considering several different people -- Bradley specifically named Todd Wash and Bob Babich as being "in strong consideration" for the coordinator position in his press conference, and one source this morning considered Babich the favorite to land the job. (http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/...ordinator.html)

The fact that Marinelli might be "considered" for their staff doesn't mean he'll even get an offer, and doesn't mean they're looking at him as a DC.
