The poor sap sucker. That's a fate worse than death.

In truth, I do respect him. He was just wrong this time. It does happen.

Looks like Jerry got his man. I should've never doubted.

Serious question, though. Will we ever be at a place where we have assembled such a crack team of defensive coaches and experts that the players get most of the blame for not producing? This may be that time.

It won't be this time. You'll always have fans blaming coaches and play calling for inferior talent.

I'm not excited whatsoever about the defensive staff. It's a changing league and we've got two dinosaurs expected to keep up with it. There's no question they were great coaches in the past, it's the present I'm concerned about. Age gets the better of all of us at some point. Then you have the scheme switch. Going back to a 4-3 is like getting a kiss from your grandmother.

My focus is on just getting Romo some NFL caliber talent along the OL this offseason. If we can just do that, I'm a happy camper. Flush as many of those turds as you possibly can. Try to win with offense. The coaching on defense wasn't an issue last year. So I'm not sure what we're attempting to fix.

How so? The 43 defense is still widely used and is a very viable scheme.

You didn't like the Bears defense in 2012 all things considering? I'm not saying we have the same talent level, but the coaches should get some credit, imo.

I agree with you on the OL. I think we should get 1 quality guy in FA and another 1-2 guys in the Draft.

Different dynamic.

If Lovie came here with Marinelli I wouldn't be concerned. Though I would still hate a 4-3.

Oh, I see. So it is Kiffin's age that is bothering you.

So, Kiffin is so old that he can't... what exactly?

Well, let's see who ends up the LB coach.

I would like Eberflus to stay, but who knows at this stage.

I do think that we could end up with a better staff than last year on defense when it's all said and done.

Of course, it won't mean much unless we can get a couple of pieces on defense as well (at least one Safety, for example).

Good. Hopefully he carpools Kiffin to practice. Will be safer for us all.

He hasn't been in the league in years. His performance in College was embarrassing. He's 73 years old this fall. Your mind isn't quite as sharp at that age. You have less energy. You just aren't as good as you used to be. I'm surprised I have to tell you this, actually. It's called life.

If it wasn't an issue there'd be a plethora of 70 year old coaches in the league.
