The man I want lining up opposite of Dez Bryant...
-
Stedman Bailey*, WR, West Virginia
Height: 5-10. Weight: 193.
Projected 40 Time: 4.40.
Projected Round (2013): 2-3.
1/12/13: Bailey was a dominant force in this season. He was one of the most productive receivers in the nation and torched defenses with speed. Bailey made 114 receptions for 1,622 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2012. He had 13 catches for 303 yards and five touchdowns against Baylor.
8/17/12: Bailey was a big-play receiver for the Mountaineers and their potent passing attack last season. He caught 72 passes for 1,279 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Bailey is very fast and has enough size to be a speedy slot receiver in the NFL. He hauled in 24 passes for 317 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman in 2010.
Former teammate Keith Tandy told Walterfootball.com that Bailey is an excellent route runner who has great hands. If everybody stays healthy, the junior should have a huge year. He has one of the best quarterbacks in college football to work with in Geno Smith.

Yes indeed and played through an ankle injury which took away some of his explosiveness. He's a legit big time play-maker.

I like him a lot too. Very underrated player imo. He's explosive and has big play ability with his speed. Here's his 2012 highlights. Look at his #'s this year. Very impressive, even in a pass-happy offense, and he missed 3 games due to injury. If we could grab him in the 4th or 5th I'd be elated.

If we take a WR that high, I think I might prefer Da'Rick Rogers, the ex Tenn standout. Kid's a knucklehead and has some character issues, but a ton of talent. I wouldn't touch him in the 2nd considering our other needs and all his red flags, but if he's there in the 3rd, I'd be pretty tempted. If we trade down or out of the first and pick up extra picks, I'd take a gamble on him.

I'd have a very hard time swallowing taking a WR in the 1st 3 rounds, but I like the kid.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

I think Miles Austin might be cut... Bailey is a perfect fit in this offense. This kid has GREAT hands and has good deep speed.

I really don't think they're going to cut him. I don't even think it's likely they cut Free at this point. Same Ole, Same Ole.

This guy has Greg Jennings type of style of play... I really think he's polished in his route running abilities.

I'd rather have Miles Austin playing across from Dez. I don't like counting on rookie WRs. That doesn't mean I am opposed to Dallas drafting Bailey and letting him develop into Austin's eventual replacement. I just think it will take Bailey a couple of years to learn the game and become reliable. Why create that hole?
