Who would you rather call plays?
A. Garrett
B. Callahan
C. Leave it to Jerry to bring someone in from the outside?
i vote B, only cause i dont know who is out there that isnt an old retread.

I would rather leave that up to the HC. Does not bother me if it is Callahan or Garrett but it should be what Garrett wants, it is his job on the line.

Me. I'll load the game situations into Madden and refer to the notes of the experts here who know successful play calls without knowing assignments, a truly amazing skill to have.

Basically. Offense flops again next year, fire his stubborn ***. he has no right to have a big ego. Hasn't done a thing as a player or coach. (facepalm)

He is head coach as such it should be his call. His offense or Callahan offense or anyone else offense will fail if the players do not execute.
Play calling does not make lineman block better or WR run the correct routs or make the catch.
Sorry but there seems to be a simple mindedness from those that think changing who calles the play is going to some how correct everything else. It does not work that way

Callahan IS a retread. Maybe Jurruh has his eye on a reel wiener.... steel one from the Harbaugh Bowl.

After reading this http://thelandryhat.com/2013/01/17/a...lling-numbers/ I will say Bill Callahan would be my choice. FTR, I am all about Jason Garrett being the HC of the Cowboys and if he makes it past next year and gets more experience having to do all the things expected out of a HC and wants to give play calling another shot I'd have no problem with that either.

Don't copy Garrett's idea.

D. Magic 8 Ball because it would be less predictable and stale than a JG offense. Ed Reed maybe would not be able to predict the play call two years in a row.

My feeling aswell tbh, you should not force a coach to hire an OC if he is against it. It's kinda stupid IMO. If Jerry wants someone else to call the plays then fire Garrett and find another HC. Let Garrett run the team the way he wants to. Like someone previously said, it's his job on the line.

A random dartboard in the booth.
Because right now it's basically, run for -2 yards, 2 consecutive Romo passes.
Then hope that somehow during all these long down and distance situations he or Dez can make a miracle happen and keep the game close.
Our play-calling has regressed significantly since 2007.

I disagree.
You can compensate for poor blocking with quick hitting plays. That's said, overall poor execution cannot be compensated for, but bad blocking is a different topic.

It's not nearly that simple.
If you can't run block you become one dimensional, defenses can double and bracket your best receivers, walk extra guys up into the box to bring heat on the QB. Never have to worry about getting beaten on a run blitz, etc.
Garrett has no screen game, no running identity and relies strictly on Romo throwing the football into very tight windows in statistically unmanagable down and distance scenarios.
Without Romo Garrett would've been long gone, a long time ago.

Garrett. Until I see someone better come available.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee
