They also play a much more different style of DEF. Revis plays man. Mo played too much zone. We'll see how he does this yr.

He could probably stand to put on a bit more muscle, but I don't think he's had many issues pressing NFL receivers.

Also his game speed looks to be faster than his 40 time.

He is as fast with excellent agility. He certainly is no where near as strong and hasn't shown the awareness.

But he was playing man press coverage as a rookie in the NFL. That's about as hard as it gets after QB.

Anyone not impressed with him probably has a very limited football IQ.

Now as to how improves and grows that is up to his work ethic and ability to learn.

But there are 32 NFL teams that would love to have him including this one.

Deion wasn't Primetime his first year as well, he had quite a few games where he was burnt toast. Corners tend to make a major leap there second year, there footwork and awareness improves greatly. Remember with Jenkins we were questioning whether he was going to beat out Scandrick, but his game elevated to another level after his rook year. Claiborne is going to tear things up next season.

I hope we see more evidence of playmaking ability. He made one INT on a popup and picked up a loose ball for a TD which weren't particularly spectacular plays. The one great play he made in the Chicago game was overruled and then the one he made against the Saints in OT to force the fumble actually worked in the Saints' favour because Jimmy Graham recovered the ball.

He was okay but only played like a late first rounder, not like a top 10 pick. I was quite disappointed after they hyped him as the second best player in the draft (above RG3, Trent Rich, Kalil, Tannehill).

IMO, Wagner outplayed him by a decent margin and Brockers looks like a quality starter at DT that we could badly use next year. The trade also looks like a pretty decent failure at this time. He will have to fulfill his All-Pro type projection to make the deal worthwhile.
This summed it up perfectly IMO.

"I just always feel that he's going to find a way to win the game…He has evolved into a great, great leader of the team...He is the total package." Roger Staubach about Tony Romo

"They're a talented group with a great quarterback, and they're well on their way." Troy Aikman on the Cowboys and Tony Romo

But what do Roger and Troy know about great quarterbacking, talent, leadership, and winning anyway?

Neither Brockers nor Wagner would start on this team. Brockers managed a couple sacks each in two games. Otherwise he was piss poor -- yes, that's 14 games of below average DL play. We have plenty of similar types on our team. We're very lucky we managed that trade. Very lucky. Corners like this are very rare.

I dont have stats to back this up, so I could be absolutely wrong about this...but I got the feeling that he regressed a little toward the end of the season. But, maybe this was just due to all the other injuries on defense....or maybe the grind of his first NFL season wore him down a little.

Exactly. I'm surprised at the negativity on this kid. He's a stud.

Wagner proved to be a solid starter and Brockers was an average starter, but neither has the upside to be an All-Pro at a premium position. Top speed is probably his only hole, but it should be obvious how good he can be at such a hard position, rookies usually get abused in this league at the position.

Takes alot of work to be a good CB, hopefully he puts in the work and becomes what we thought he could be cause he definitely has the ability and talent.

I echo this. The lack of any real safety play behind him coupled with the turnstall at LB really stunted his growth I believe. Although he was primarily a press corner in college, I think he and Church can thrive on one side in a cover two zone. Particularly if Kiffin varies between press and soft zone and uses combo coverages.

I think they said he seemed to have the best skillset of a CB prospect since deion. But everybody was saying that. I think ur trying to push your own version of the truth in there.

The cowboys thought he was better than mike Jenkins. Check what contract Jenkins gets this offseason and that will be a pretty good measure of how good he was as a rookie.

I don't remember a single other source indicating he was the best since Deion at anything. I only heard that out of Valley Ranch.

What other teams / media / etc did you see that said?
