He may be good during the regular season but once we get into elimination games we may have to rely on the entire team a lot more because he will freak out.

Peyton Manning is a bigtime choker too in the postseason. His team had to carry him to his Superbowl. Hopefully ours could do the same.

I don't think it will with the schemes we use for awhile because it's going to take forever to get a Baltimore kind of team since we don't have a lot of talent on the line and the QB is hardly ever on the same page with his receivers.
You're coming around.

As for Romo, I never said he was great. IMO, Romo is a serviceable QB who can win big games but is not a difference maker on his own. He needs help.
Finally, we agree. Have a good day guys.

Nickovich (sp?) is a relentless player but I would tend to agree. I always thought Oher was a good tackle but not great. Better than Free, though.

Here's my thing though -- what QB does it "on his own".

Romo has no running game. No offensive line. No defense.

What QB has carried a joke of a team like that to a Superbowl title? Some people here expect Romo to essentially do what no QB in history has ever done.

Some might say Aaron Rodgers can carry a team.

I'm a fan but I really thought he was past having a freakout game in that kind of situation.

Something got in his head during the week and it manifested out on the football field.

Garrett didn't help him a lot with the design of his gameplan but maaan that was an absolute train wreck of a game for Tony.

The year they won the Superbowl they had one of the best defenses in the league. A defense that got after the QB and created a ton of turnovers.

Give Romo a D like that this year and we easily win probably two more games, host a home playoff game and that Washington game doesn't even matter.

And to the point, Rodgers is better than Romo. I won't deny that. But every QB needs help.

How many players did they have in IR that year when they won the SB?

Actually, Peyton Manning choked when the Patriots had refined the art of cheating...

Ladarius Webb, CB (The only starter)
Damien Barry, RB (UDFA rookie who was going to take time from Rice.)
Ricky Brown, LB (Was not going to take reps away from Suggs, Ellerbe, or Lewis.)
Emanuel Cook, DB (A solid backup.)
Anthony Levine, DB (UDFA rookie injured in Camp.)
Mike McAdoo, LB (How'd they survive without him?)
Ryan McBean, DE (All world I gather.)
Jameel McLain, ILB (The only other solid backup.)
Bobby Rainey, RB (Yet another UDFA rookie who was going to replace Rice.)
Jah Reid, G (Who? Exactly.)
Tommy Streeter, WR (Wasn't expected to even make the team.)
Christian Thompson, FS (Clearly this UDFA was going to bench Ed Reed.)
LaQuan Williams, WR (Marginal at best.)

I'd take Lee or Carter back over the entire list. The only one who could start for Dallas might be Webb, and that is a might.

I have no clue. It's a valid point that if we have Lee/Carter, etc. we very well may have been a 10-6 team.

But they didn't stay healthy. They never stay healthy. And it always goes back to falling on Romo's shoulders, which just isn't fair.

Absolutely agree. Some more than others.

I've never heard of any of those guys except Webb and McLain.

You know, the Ravens fired their OC in the midst of a play-off run and at the beginning of the year they were leading the league as one of the worst RUN DEFENSES in the entrie league. Flacco was getting reamed as an average QB. They lost the heart of their defense and Suggs, two impact players on their defense for a significant portion of the year.

To act like they didn't have to overcome difficulties is pretty damn hilarious.
