This is why you franchise and trade him. You get to decide what team he goes to and get picks for him.

Maybe it is a good time to go back to a 4-3. More teams looking for 3-4 front-7 types.

Cheifs already ran the 3-4. Also the cards are going to the 4-3. San Deigo is talking about going to the 4-3 also.
I don'y understand why Saints and Eagles will switch to the 3-4, it will take thos two teams a few years to be ready.

Not sure this makes any sense. You have your best year ever, so now you're in decline?

This. His value will never be higher and at $10M with a chance to work out a new deal, we could probably get a 2nd or 3rd.

He is saying that you have to be careful with guys who have their best season i contract years. The worry is that if you give him a big contract, he is going to go back to the way he played when money was not on the line.
In other words, will Spencer play like he did this year or will he go back to being "almost anthony" once he gets paid?
That is the concern.
As the official head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett is 16-16............"Its a Process of stacking good days"
2013 Prediction: "NO PLAYOFFS"

The 3-4 has become too mainstream, I can see why the Cowboys switched.

Holding my breath on contract talks. Hopefully we can get something done.

Good..........then with Garretts intricate offense, we'll be able to dictate to their defence, forcing them to show run or pass defense, and force their best pass rusher to drop back into pass coverage.

If we had made the switch to 43 last off-season, would Mario Williams be a Cowboy right now? Not that his first season in Buffalo was anything to write home about. Just curious.

A pro football talk comment
Sean Payton, one of the best/most creative offensive minds in football (Top 5 Offense for 6 years running and until this year the winningest coach over that time period) is saying that this defense is more difficult to deal with than others. Also, 6 of the top 10 Def’s in 2012, 8 of the 12 playoff teams, and both SB participants were 3-4s.
Puzzling we are going the other way with Ware and Spencer sort of in place.

Not really sure why the Eagles would do it, none of their personnel really fit a 3-4 scheme. I guess Graham could play OLB and but how solid is he going to be there? Where does Trent Cole play? Kendricks could play inside but Demeco was let go by the Texans because he wasn't up to par in Wade's 3-4. They'd need a nosetackle too. A lot of work when they could have just hired a better defensive coordinator.

We can trade Ratliff to them to play NT.

With the Saints, it could be because they have 2 starting MLBs. It will keep them both on the field at the same time.

I'd be surprised if Vilma is back with them. They basically have 2-3 useful pieces to a front 7 so it does not matter much what front they run.

I was talking about Lofton and Hawthorne. Forgot about Vilma.
If Vilma stays, Hawthorne can be OLB because he can play MLB and OLB from what I heard.
