Default Right now I think trading down looks good

If you could trade down and get an extra 2nd somehow and come out of the 1st and 2nd round with something like Kawann Short, Lane Johnson, and Warford then that would be something hard to turn down.

Im usually quality over quantity but this year I think the quantity is worth it over a guy like Ezekiel Ansah.

Anyone else liking the trade down scenario as of now?

I like the idea of trading to get picks in the 2014 draft. Of course we lack the foresight to do it, but it should be stronger class and I'd like the extra ammo.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

I think it's a smart thing to do this year as well. 18 is a tough spot in the draft. They usually only have 18-21 guys ranked as first rounders, and it's very possible that all the players at positions we target go before we pick.

I don't feel there's that much of a difference between the 18th guy picked and the 24th.

There was a scenario on twitter that the Chiefs who are high on Tyler Wilson take our pick and we get there 32nd, a 3rd and there 1st next year. I think I would take that.

This is a deep draft for teams who need help in the trenches, I would love a trade down for multiple picks in the 2nd and 3rd rds

Church is in session

I would do it. More ammo to get Clowney from South Carolina. Plus, gives us ammo to fix the OL and DL this year. The draft is deep in those positions, we have to take advantage of that.

Trade down is the way to go, I would be ecstatic if we walk away with either Short or Warford. I think both would bring some nastiness in the trench. (Walking away with both is even better, my pet cats)

Only way we should stay if Warmack is there at 18 then I think we have to jump on that opportunity. Otherwise, find a trade partner and pick the best person available on DL or OL.

This. I would like to be able to acquire several picks in the 2014 draft in the top 4 rounds if at all possible.

I Covet Clowney like no other and I see us drafting a QB next year as well. Would like to see if we could do that but it's probably a pipe dream.

See I think Warmack will be there.

Guard is never going to be a value pick and teams will always have a reason for some other player having more value than a guard.

Unless you see LA potential I think you don't draft one in the top 15.

Also, I like Warmack, but i'd like to know what I could get in a trade down and still snag Cooper.

Had Cooper been at Bama who is to say we aren't talking about him ahead of Warmack right now?

I sure wouldn't be opposed to it.

But it always comes down to what is happening on draft day.

You can (or should) never pre-plan this stuff (especially in the middle of the round).
If things fell right--say everyone we wanted at 18 was gone or 4-5 guys all valued the same were still going to be there at 18, then a trade down seems like a real option.

Agreed.

Set ourselves up to get Clowney next year.

I agree with the whole Alabama player thing, but I watched this kid play and I think he is one, that I can say will elevate our run game. To me the draft is a gamble, you think you know what the next team wants and boom they go a different direction.

We need more then ever to make our OL dominant, if we do not fix it then we will never understand Romo as our future or not. We need no excuses up front and see how if he leads us to the promise land or he tanks. I am not trying to make this a Romo thread, but instead we need to truly understand our future at QB. Make OL strong and see where it takes us.

Although, I don't think Warmack makes it to 18 and I think a trade down will be the best case for our team.
