Default Best College Player to help Boyz @ #18

I'm feeling as though the very best College Player to help Boyz @ #18 would be BYU Defensive End Ezekiel (Ziggy) Ansah. I just feel after looking at the situation that having his skill set across from DeMarcus Ware will give teams absolute fits. I just wish there was a way to get both him and Kwane Short....WOW that would give us tremendous pressure on opposing QB's.

I disagree, I'm not big on Ziggy. I watched him play a few times this year he makes splash plays but disappears through the game. I think he will go before 18. I also like Datone Jones as SDE.

I was actually just about to make a post regarding Ansah.

At first I was completely against drafting this guy in the first round, cuz he's too much of a project. But then I got to thinking... we have one of the best DL coaches in the game now in Marinelli. If anyone can tap that potential it's him.

That said, I'd still rather have Warmack or Cooper in the first over Ansah but I wouldn't get upset if we took him.

I'm actually starting to lean toward Short in the first. That dude is Sapp-like.

Agree, he has been my pet cat for the last two months. I'm listing possible first round picks I like DL in no particular order. Ezekial Ansah, Kawaan Short, Sheldon Richardson.

If I could have any player in the draft right now it would be Eric Fisher.

I wouldn't mind Jordan Hill in the 2nd as well (if he dropped far enough).

Oh hell yeah, but we pick nowhere near where he'll get picked.

At 18 i would grab Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri and trade up to where i had to to grab Barrett Jones alabama. Im really over the center my committe. If i still had a 3rd id grab travis fredrick from wisconson be thrilled.

We weren't picking anywhere near where Claiborne would get drafted last year either.

yeah but we have too many needs to fill in a draft that is deep at the positions we need so I doubt we trade up this year.

Well we have Jerry "we're looking for a wow player" Jones as GM so who knows what selection he will make.

We had the same needs last year when they traded up. I would not be shocked at all if they trade up like last year.

I don't know if we'll trade up like last year although I wouldn't be terribly surprised to move up or down 2-3. There's enough depth on the lines this years' draft.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Our first 3 picks need to be OL, DL, & safety - in no particular order.
I should think that the new experienced coaches would have significant input on those choices, and if the guys they want are not the over-hyped picks, we may trade down. We can speculate all we want, but the coaches need to take responsibility for the choices they make, whether immediate-impact players or projects.
