As far as The Artist goes, one thing that seems to be true is that Hollywood loves films about Hollywood. Not that they're narcissistic or anything, mind you.

Paul Blart. Mall cop.

The fact that Hollywood even saw this fit for me to watch angers me.

Adam Sandler was behind that steaming pile of dung.

But just about anything Adam Sandler is in or is behind anymore is horrid.

I guess due to the low budget, and low expectations, generally positvie message, they don't bother me too much.

But corny? yes

Shawshank Redemption, they aren't.
Shawshank might rank as the greatest movie ever– that nobody went to see.

The movie only grossed like $16 mil during its entire box office run. Sad.

Pearl Harbor was disappointing to say the least. With the resosurces at their disposal they turn one of the defining moments in our history into a cheesy romantic drama with Ben Affect (sic), no less, the sorriest actor this side of K Reeves!

Never seen Dreamcatcher but the soundtrack was first rate. Pandora pushes it to me in heavy rotation.

Wow, 100 Posts and no one has mentioned Battlefield Earth? That movie was historically bad.

Haven't seen it but it's definitely on my hit list if it's truly awful.

Have to agree with you. Actually I have like 6 or 7 of Burton's movies on DVD. But his take on Planet of the Apes really was a disappointment. He's hit or miss, as you said.
