Grab a QB next year... This crop of QB's in the 2013 draft isn't that strong.

if you see someone with potential use a late pick on one. But nothing higher then a 5th. If that.
As has been continually pointed out Romo is a one off. Kurt Warner was the last UDFA before that and was a top QB. Especially in the last 10 years it is clear that outside of pure luck a franchize QB is going to come from the first round.
Counting on lightning to strike at QB is just as dumb as Jerruh's continuing attempt to rebuild the 90's line the same way.

Meh, it's lacking a cant miss #1 overall type of QB but we're not picking 1st we're picking 18th. There are a few pretty good QBs that may fall to us, Barkley, Wilson, etc., and that's about as good as it gets in any draft when you consider where we're picking.

We should have started last year or the year before.

Wish I had read the thread before I posted. I agree with you 100%. This should have been done before now.

there is not one QB in this draft really worth a first round pick. They ALL have huge holes in their games. If they were in any other position then QB a lot of them would be looked at as 3rd rd or later picks.

..than the propaganda Kurt Warner is laying down about sticking with Tony Romo and building around him more.
..I'm sorry..but the longer we invest in Romo, the farther we actually get from rebuilding and winning again at the higher levels.
If we keep being an 8-8 team, we never get the higher picks required to draft a real QB with a pedigree. Like a Troy Aikman.
Troy would know..ya think..?

Except that New England is doing exactly the same thing that we want Dallas to do. Grooming a replacement. Why would they trade said replacement?

Next year's crop (at this point) looks promising, depending on who's coming out and what the upcoming season holds. Potentially, we should see some talent with early round grades.

Candidates for this year could be: Barkley (if he has a serious drop, I wouldn't mind seeing him if he was 4th or later); Tyler Bray, Landry Jones...hell, even Collin Klein is not likely to go before the 4th.....see if one of these guys has anything to offer an NFL team

Or, you waste draft picks on the most important player on the field by tossing late round picks at the position.
Never understood the Walmart mentality for a quarterback. For every Joe Montana and Tom Brady and Tony Romo, you have several Troy Aikmans.
Obviously I am speaking about players that achieved and not stat for stat. So don't go there.
This team cannot find an offensive lineman out of the first round. Why would you expect they could find a freakin quarterback?
