Because holding in the endzone is a safety, just as tackling the ball carrier in the endzone is. I have zero doubt they play it out but I think they also add time back.
If not, it's a flawed rule because it encourages teams to violate the rules.

18 TDs and 2 INTs in his last 8 playoff games...that's an impressive stat for ANY QB in any era. Flacco is legit

You're saying that they could hold every player on the defense and let time expire and nothing would happen?
Not buying it.

When has time every been put back on the clock for holding in any game in the history of the NFL?
It was a smart play by the Ravens punt team. Very heads up.
I would have held him even longer.

Suck it Niners! Not happy to see MurdeRay Lewis win it but he's the lesser of two evils.
"I just always feel that he's going to find a way to win the game…He has evolved into a great, great leader of the team...He is the total package." Roger Staubach about Tony Romo
"They're a talented group with a great quarterback, and they're well on their way." Troy Aikman on the Cowboys and Tony Romo
But what do Roger and Troy know about great quarterbacking, talent, leadership, and winning anyway?

They wouldn't put time back on the clock, but I don't think the game can end on a penalty.
It's a process.

They don't add time back when the penalty is against the offense.

No, they don't. Its a post-snap flag, its assessed after the the play is over, and a flag doesn't stop a play. And because a flag can't stop a play, there is no justification for rewinding the time.

Probably. But wanting to get tackled in your end zone is probably not something they were thinking of when writing the rules.

This. I also dislike T Sizzle and Flacco at times.
