Cowboys name TE's coach and assistant OL coach....
The Cowboys named Wes Phillips their tight ends coach Tuesday. Phillips has spent the last six seasons with the club, most recently as the offensive line assistant in 2011-12.
Frank Pollack was also announced as the team's assistant offensive line coach. Pollack will be re-united with offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Bill Callahan, whom he played for at Northern Arizona in 1987-88.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

So Callahan is the OC and OL coach then? I would guess so.
And only the RB coaching position (Gash?) needs to be filled.

With Callahan being the OC, it's odd that the new guy is the Assistant OLine Coach.

That's what had me confused as well.
Maybe we also have an OL coach and it hasn't been announced? But otherwise maybe Callahan is taking responsibility for the OL and he's the OC too.

Pollack was the OL coach for the Raiders last year and spent 5 years as the Texans' assistant OL coach.

But according to that article, he's coming in as the Asst OL coach. It seems like he's taking a demotion. I would have thought he'd come in as the OL coach and report to Callahan who is the OC.
End of the day, doesn't really matter I suppose. Garrett/Callahan are getting the guy they need to fix the OL.

Garrett is still the acting OC, Callahan will help him and likely call plays.

Sounds like Callahan is calling the plays, while Pollack manages the o-line d.uring the game.
Callahan ran a very different offense than Garrett.

Looks to me like they are preparing for the possibility that Callahan will become the play-caller.
Wouldn't need an assistant OL coach with his experience otherwise.

I think that makes a lot of sense.
Pollack can handle the OL during games, while Callahan focuses on play calling.
Garrett then is freed up to take care of the big picture.

I don't think a final decision has been made about who the play caller will be.
Callahan is still the Offensive Coordiantor (without play-calling duties) and OL caoch, just as last year.
All that's happened here is he's gotten a new assistant for the OL.

Trent Dilfer: "Tony [Romo] has greatness in him. I think when you talk to other people that really play the quarterback position, there's a few guys that really have incredible greatness in them, and Tony is one of them. I think the issue here is he needs more help from his teammates. I think they are not nearly as talented as people say they are, from 1 to 53. I'm talking about the total roster.”
