O M G, the stupidity in those statements is ... frustrating.

They could have lost a couple of close ones, too. Cincy and Pitt come to mind. This team just isn't very good.
Jerry keeps hanging on to the fact that the Giants squeaked in the playoffs and won two Super Bowls and uses that as a justification for being mediocre. When you don't demand greatness from the top to the bottom, you won't get it.

Baltimore has only been around since 1996. They have more Super Bowl wins than we have playoff wins. The man responsible for that is still in the driver's seat.

I guess Nate missed the memo that we draft the Right Kind of Guy now.
It's part of the process.
Dez Bryant, Receiver. A man who's season is over. Gentlemen, the Cowboy's staff can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first super human receiver.
Dez Bryant will be that man. Better than he was before. Better.... Stronger..... Faster......

Whether or not the team is close to winning it all is a different issue. Last year to start the season no one thought SF was close but they were. Same with Seattle this year.

If, if if...but that didn't happen at all.
And that is the point.
All the ifs ands or buts don't mean squat.
You've been weighed
You've been measured
And you've been found to be a casual fan

It all goes back to how soft this team is, I am also tired of hearing how talented this team is, but the reality is, they aren't very good.

Well, with all the goofy ways this team has lost games in the last few years, I'm sure there are a lot of players who are always waiting for the other shoe to drop. If that's what he means by saying the players lack a can do attitude (ie confidence), then there's probably a lot of truth to that.

I don't think this team is soft at all. They just make some dumb mistakes.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

I happen to agree with Nate... This team has a loser's mentality.

Who needs the "Attitude" when we got the "Process".

Newton is a million percent right and it's been echoed by many NFL people for years.
This group has no fire in it's belly.
That is why I choose Richardson over Short or Warmack over Cooper in this draft.

The dumb mistakes are a good example of mental softness. There is no way around it.

I've thought something similar but it was more along the lines of the fact that they are not physical up front. That dominating attitude often comes from the physicality of a team and the inverse is true as well.... if you're getting your butts kicked up front you're gonna get bullied all over the field.

If you want to use the word 'soft' to mean mistake prone, then I guess you're right. That's not the normal use of that descriptor, though.
This team is well conditioned, and they play hard. They beat themselves with the mistakes.

[quote=TwoDeep3;4995114]they don't have anybody that has that attitude.

Nate lost me there. I believe we do have players with the right attitude in those situations, but attitude can only go so far, you have to put solid talent out on the field to get the job done Mr. Newton.

You know this is funny because around the time we played the Ravens everyone was talking about how they had falling off and how their defense had gotten too old to be real contenders. The league is full of parity. The Cowboys with a solid offseason(involving younger players continuing to progress and a solid traning camp) will have the chance to once again compete for the championship.
This is the NFL. The Browns have a right to believe they have a shot to make the playoffs next year. Because they do.
