I'm not a big fan of Garrett, but I don't see anything wrong with what he said.
If anything, the 'uncertainty' just implies that Callahan will have a bigger influence on the offense (which is needed). If Garrett's calling plays, he'd just come out and say it. He didn't, which leads me to believe he won't.
The team is just being coy. Smart thing to do. At least gives us a bit of an advantage vs. our opposition, if they don't know who's calling plays.
Don't know why we expect our team to tell us exactly what's going on.

what has happened this off season and the way jerry has undercut jason and his complete acceptance of this behavior tells us that he does not have a backbone
no real self respecting coach who values how players view him would have stood for this rubbish
garrett is what he is, someone jerry was comfortable with who he can use as a prop, while he acts as the real HC behind the scenes

think about it...
if our GM gets fired he will not get another job as GM
if our director of pro-personnel gets fired he will not get another job as that in the NFL
if our HC gets fired he will not get another job as HC in the NFL
ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE IN POSITION ONLY BECAUSE JERRY IS THE OWNER AND GM
and not one of them is qualified to do the job they are doing

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

So now it's wrong for either the media or the fans to question who will be calling the plays in Dysfunction Junction?
Only in Cowboyland do fans try to rationalize for themselves the blatant dysfunction rampant throughout this organization.
"I don't understand it Stephen, it's opening day 2014, where is everybody?"

Because it's really not that important who calls the plays. The game plan is a collaborative effort and drives the playcalling more than anything else.

Should we tell that to the 31 other teams who aren't fumbling around with their own structures?

Do you mean like the Super Bowl champs who canned their OC/playcaller during the season?

Most definitely.
It took that team a week to decide who was going to be calling their plays -during the season!
This bunch can't even decide two months after the season is over.

Come on... don't you know they need to give the fans and media something to complain/whine about? It keeps them in the news!

Difference is this bunch can take their time if they like, the Ravens had to make a decision immediately.

Yeah, they made a decision to fire a guy midseason who was horrible, hire a new guy and then go on a great winning streak. Jerry can't fire himself for doing a bad job but he'll make excuses about everything else. Structure is important. Play calling has been an issue. If it wasn't there wouldn't be speculation. Somehow they just like to think being in limbo is productive.

So you believe that their indecision is somehow a 'shrewd move'?
The Ravens saw an issue, they were decisive, and they made a change, while games that mattered were happening.
The Dallas 'braintrust' can't even make a decision with months of inactivity.
I think that's a microcosm of what separates the Jerry Jones-led Cowboys from the league's elite.
The 'lack of structire' that John Harbaugh referred to.

Nope, not saying whether it's a shrewd move or not. Just saying it's a LONG offseason and if they want to play it by ear for awhile they have that luxury.

I thought it was funny how these so called reporters asked the same question about 30...40 times, and then wonder why the answer was the same everytime.
Garrett for 2013!
