So what do we do with all this cap space?
trade to make a move and get a proven player via trade because we can handle a big salary....
restructure some bigger contracts of current players so we'll be in a great cap situation next year also and can make another splash for a SB run....
.....????
Hope a big name gets cut 1 June?
Hope Ty Law can be ready to play FS come Sept?
ideas?
Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore

Re-structure some current contracts. Absorb some salary this year so we're in a better position next winter.

Be ready for anyone who hits the market on June 1. If we don't pick anybody else up, front-load some contracts.

Now might be a good year to trade a big contract for nice value and take the cap hit now. Glover or the like could be moved this year for a nice pick or a player that fits into what were trying to do.

Adam can explain it a lot better than I can, for that matter just about anyone here could but last year we started copying what the Vikes have been doing for a few seasons now which gave them there huge amount of salary cap room this season. Basically they gave incentive bonuses to players with incentives that practically speaking could not be reached. The Vikes got credit for money spent that didnt really get spent and rolled it into the next season. We did this with one player last year, cant remember who (Cundiff?)
I'm sure someone else has a better explaination on this, just how I spit it out well enough for someone to figure out what the heck I am talking about.

Excellent point, and probably what we will do if someone we just cannot pass up doesn't become available.

How much cap space do we have left; isn't it down to 6 or 7 Mil now? That is enough to make a move of two, we will save some for injury settlement and such contingencies and hopefully have enough left to pay earned incentives this year so they won't have to carry over to next year.
