rumor from jim rome....glover for rogers
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Very interesting news from Detroits Sports Radio 1130 said the Lions did not draft Mike Williams to replace injury prone Charlie Rogers; BUT, Jim Rome said he has insider sources that are telling him, Matt Millen spoke with the Cowboys about a draft day trade, time ran out and the trade did not go through. Rome says this trade has fuel and states the Lions are trying to swap Charlie Rogers to the Cowboys for DT La’Roi Glover. Rome went on the say the Lions would love to add glover to the DT spot, and the Cowboys may use Glover less now that they are heading towards a 3-4 formation. Rome said he would not be surprised if a trade is made in the coming weeks!

hmmmm....I don't know about this one. Doesn't make sense to trade a pro-bowl DT for an oft-injured WR.

Not just no... but HELL no...
Rogers is quite a talent... but in his short tenure in the NFL he has shown to be too much of an injury risk...

As much as i dislike talking about these kind of trades (cuz most are BS anyways) and as much as i love Glover, this trade is interesting. If Rogers could freakin stay healthy, he is an unbelievable talent.

i would consider it if he passed a physical.
Or I would take MIKE WILLIAMS OR ROY WILLIAMS FOR HIM!

I would be happy as heck if this happened... Rogers showed great promise as a rookie but 2 unlucky hits have really slowed him down.
Trading an older but still good Glover that no longer fits the new scheme for a young and very talented (but unlucky) Wr would be a steal IMO.
Rogers Clavicle is now steel plated and should not be any more fo a problem.
I heard the Lions are not happy with the kind of shape he is in right now though.
"They say it makes your testicles shrink,'' Bonds said. "I can tell you my testicles are the same size. They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have."

Glover is not getting any younger and we just loaded up on his replacements.... It was the same injury two years in a row and is supposed to be fixed with last years surgery.... for a yound star WR you have to consider this.

Agreed TB. Not only that but if the rumors are true and he is overweight and out of shape then a trade like this would definitely ruin the good feelings I've been having the past few days about the Cowboys. Because we would sure get the short end of that stick.
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

I've been listening to Rome for seven years and I don't think I've ever heard him use the words "my sources." He has his schtick, he interviews, he gives his take on stuff in the news, but he's never ventured into the realm of reporting.
This whole thing sounds like bull crap to me.

i really wanna see if he can last more than half a ear before we start going trading a guy who has basically played everygame, and almsot every down since he come to us. To me its not worth it. WR come 9 out of 10. we will find another

Awful big risk, Rogers has never been healthy. Talk about a boom or bust.
Make em throw in a conditional draft choice based on playing time next year.

I would hope we could get a better proven WR for Glover instead of Rogers, Rogers has talent but the injuries are just too big of a risk for a pro bowl DT.

If true, this wouldn't be horrible.
Rogers' injuries have been unfortunate but minor. They shouldn't make him any less of a player.
Glover's days in Dallas are numbered. We'd be lucky to get a potential #1 receiver for him.
