Merriman was our guy according to
Fox Sports last night. I don't remember the guys name, but he said that the Cowboys were going to take Merriman up until the last couple of days last week. He said that the Cowboys learned something (didn't clarify what) from early in his college career that made them uncomfortable and then the decided to take Ware.

I find it hard to believe that BP only made his mind up a couple days ago regarding a player that "reminded him an awful lot of L.T."

i could have gone either way. i'm sure the cowboys liked both and they probably went back and forth quite a bit on it.

I suppose Ware vs. Merriman is going to be one of those things we'll be watching for the next few years.
Kind of like Manning vs. Leaf, etc. (It didn't take too long to figure out who made the better decision in that one!)

Dallas picked up Ware, SD got Merriman and the rest is just newspaper filler from some bored writers.

I'm glad we didn't take Merriman but the intriging one that I will be watching this year is Pollack. In his highlights on draft day he rushed the QB stripped the ball in the end zone and got a touchdown. Boomer says did you see that last play, that was unreal.

Newey had a deal on the radio the monday before the draft, and he said Merriman is not the man we want, its ware, and spears. I dont know when Bill decided. But according to Newey, it was a full 5 days or more. He was dead adament that Ware was the pick at 11, mot merriman.
Step aside for the Cowboys from Hell!!!!!

More like S. Jackson v J. Jones. Simple fact is Dallas chose Ware. So there's really no debate for me.
I may track Merriman's progress a little, just to see if he's really the big dog some on here think he is, but I'm not gonna lose any sleep that we didn't choose him. I just support the 'boys that wear the star...
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

I'm guessing the Cowboys told Merriman he was their man either to fool the other teams or because they honestly thought Ware would already be gone when they picked.
