Default Boldin holding out on Cards..

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/card...dsnb04260.html

Of all the WR prospects this guy is the most appealing to me! I believe Parcells even raved about him.

He's not a prospect anymore. He's a player who's outplayed his contract and wants the upgrade the Cardinals promised him last year.

With that said, if we're looking at untouchable players to attach dreams to, then I'd go after Ed Reed. He's holding out too for a pay raise.
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

Why would he not be a possibility? It would not be the first time something like this happens. Cardinals could run out of options and figure it is best to get something for him. Anyone know how long his contract is?

Another holdout possibility and yet again, another Drew Rosenhaus client.

Perhaps he should change his name to "Drew Poston."

(For the record, I think Boldin's got a legitimate argument for a restructure)

Wasnt Boldin considered in a trade for Min, Michael Bennett? If they would do that...

Yes, Parcells raved about him prior to the Pro Bowl voting in his rookie season. The kid can play but I can't see Arizona moving him.

They do have Larry Fitzgerald and Bryan Johnson, both 1st rd picks, I doubt they deal him, but they do have the WR to absorb the hit

I don't think absorbing Bolden's contract will be the deciding factor on trading him or not. Isn't he small contract the reason he is holding out?

I think he was a third round pick, made the pro-bowl his first year then had really good numbers after he returned from injury last year.

Meanwhile, first round pick Bryan Johnson has done squat and made much more money.

I'd want more money too if I were Boldin.

Small correction. He was a 2nd round pick. Neither here nor there. He's a good WR who has clearly outplayed his contract. Cardinals promised to upgrade after the 1st year and then he hurts his knee or ankle or whatever and they put the talks on hold. Meanwhile he goes out and has a somewhat decent year even coming off the injury.

That being said, I just don't see AZ letting him go. Green likes the 3 WR set and he's got three solid WRs, even tho Johnson has played up to his draft status.

I don't understand you guys.

This guy is holding out and refusing to play for his contract. That shows that this guy is a punk who is a problem causer. But some of you people can only see stats, and overlook the character issue.

Do I want some guy who has good skills but is a disruption? HELL NO!

No that's not fair. He outplayed his contract and is in the last year of his deal. The kid had 100 receptions two years ago! He's not being unreasonable at all, this is not a T.O. situation.

==================

As others have pointed out, Boldin has a point. The Cards promised to re-do his contract after his first season but when he got injured last year they put the talks on hold. Boldin came back from the injury and had a good season but the Cards still aren't willing to renegotiate his deal (which is very typical of Bill Bidwell which explains why the Cards have sucked forever).

Normally, I am against a player not playing out his contract but in Boldin's case I have some sympathy. That said, I would love to get this guy. He is far from being a punk or a troublemaker and is said to be one of the better guys in the lockerroom.
