Seahawks sign DE Bennett
one year 5m.
Wow, they have a dominant DL.
This guy was my main target and we are on the hook for 11m with spencer, probably giving him a stupid long term deal way above market value

Yep.
You nailed it.
He would have been a great young DE candidate - for half the price!

Bennett play inside and outside on both ends and had similar numbers to spencer.

Does anyone think that these Cowboys can compete with his team?

not with our oline and current safeties. I just wish we could stay relatively healthy.

They will be lucky to compete with any team, 6-10 or 7-9

This signing sucks. Their defense will be really annoying. We need to hit a few home runs in this draft. It needs to be like a 2005 type draft.
"I just always feel that he's going to find a way to win the game…He has evolved into a great, great leader of the team...He is the total package." Roger Staubach about Tony Romo
"They're a talented group with a great quarterback, and they're well on their way." Troy Aikman on the Cowboys and Tony Romo
But what do Roger and Troy know about great quarterbacking, talent, leadership, and winning anyway?

Teams are not built in FA. This hearkens to the Eagles and other teams that have tried this tactic.

Forgive me for sounding like Mickey, but if the guy's so darn good, why did he only command a one year deal for 5 million? And why did his own team, with plenty of cap space, let him walk for such a low price? It's not like there are a ton of edge pass rushers in FA or the draft.
There's always more to the story.

We took the eventual SB champs to the wire, in their house, and came within a couple feet of winning. Do we need to get better? Yeah. Can we compete if we don't? Yeah.

lol, I can't stand when people use something Mickey has said, but this is definitely valid.
