Default This is how it should be done

See the agent doesn't controll the player. This is a good example of that. T.O. is a different situation as they all are but its up to the player to hold out or play.

"There's nothing I can do," Ward told the newspaper. "They're talking to my agent and stuff like that. It's out of my control. I still have to go out here and perform. I'm busting my tail and worrying about getting better. I'll let my agent and the Steelers talk about my contract."

Well, I have to agree.

IMO, this is both reasonable and honerable. Two very big keys in getting any agreement accomplished.

Not only more reasonable... but I'd bet the Steelers are much more open to handing their wallet to Ward for being so committed to winning, and being a team player.

If you have a choice to pay someone who says he wants more money but is willing to wait and not be a distraction, and a player who refuses to play unless you pay him NOW.... Im sure you see my point.

Ward is a class act. I am glad to see their are still players around who actually care about what is best for the team. Isn't that what is suppose to be the MOST important after all? Funny how greedy athletes who can't win super bowls forget these things

yeah, ward is a great football player and he is handling this the way it should be done. His actions and statements really make TO look bad, especially in light of the fact that they play same position and are both in the top 5 at their position.
