I think Marino is one of the greatest QB's to play; I have quite a few other QB's who I think fit the description of greatest to play such as Dan Fouts. Some will use SB as a measuring stick but I for one believe that teams win SB not just 1 person. I think there have been many all time greats who played on teams that just did not have the overall personnel to go all the way.

Mark Duper (3 Pro Bowls) Mark Clayton (5 Pro Bowls) both for a combined 10 years? Irving Fryar (5 Pro Bowls, 2 with Miami) Keith Jackson (5 Pro Bowls)...
Granted... he had no running game... but he had a plethora of good WR's...

All these players were decent NFL players. Not all were Pro Bowl type players but all were at least good NFL players.

Took me a little while to edit my original post so thought I would bring this back onto the current page. Here is a list of some of the offensive players that played with Marino.

Staubach!!!
Why?
Because he was the quarterback for the Cowboys at a time when I had the illusion that I too could grow up to be the quarterback of the Cowboys. By the time Aikman came along, that illusion had faded away.
Oh yeah, another important reason is the fact that if a player is not a Cowboy, then that player is CRAP!!!

I don't agree on the Marino thing but I can see why anybody could make that case. I do agree on the Young thing. He was certainly a great QB. He is very deserving of being in this discussion.

I don't choose Marino because of the stats btw......if that were the case then Warren Moon would be the best QB in the world

Having said that, the reason I don't call Marino the best is because he never embrased the running game. I believe that Miami was good enough to win a championship or two but they could not control the game and balance the offense. I think Marinio is the reason for this. Had he really signed on for that, I think Miami and Dan would have rings. JMO.

My vote is for John Elway - he never gave up - he knows what it feels like to lose and win Super Bowls.

Its funny that Young has only barely been mentioned in this thread, but yet he was a first ballot hall of famer,

And just to state, Troy would of been the greatest without getting injured 80 times, a true warrior. Maybe its just me sticking up for my boy Troy though.

Yup, because he was one of the greatest ever and he was the Cowboys quarterback.
"... in the scouting/front office communities, Cowboyszone is considered to be the best fan site in the NFL by a pretty wide margin, and is considered to be right up there with the best fan sites in all of sports. You'd be floored by some of the people who have accounts here, and regularly check this site. You might be careful spouting off too many crazy opinions, you could have real NFL GMs with multiple Super Bowl rings laughing at you."

Johnny Unitas. Each decade has brought us great QB's, but to me, Johnny U had the biggest overall impact. He probably had the most complete set of skills as any QB then or now. JMO

Don't know about that. Johnny Unitas didn't have a particularly strong arm but he did have all the rest.
