If SF could have got a QB that would be a bridge and select B Edwards I think they would have.

Miami is still looking for a QB, J Gruden I think would take him with out question and N.O. I guess I can see where your coming from there. But I still think they would be one

OH and YOU can add Cleveland.

Alexander, I think the book on Bledsoe's leadership (here in NE anyway this is pretty much the consensus)was that in the early years the force of Tuna's personality and Drew's very young age sort of "robbed" Bledsoe of the opportunity to more forcefully take control of his team, in a Brett Favre type way.

It was felt as good as Bill had been for Drew as coach, it was a GOOD thing leadership wise that Parcells left after the 96 season.

Everyone was standing around waiting for Bledsoe to morph into Jack Kemp or something, or at least Dan Marino. But it never really happened, even in the dynamic leadership void of the Nice-Guy Pete Carroll years.

I am far from any kind of Patriots "insider", don't know anything about what went on in any locker room, but from 1995-2001 did teach summers at the school where the Pats trained for over 20 years, and observed quite a bit of interaction, and I can say quite confidently that the virtual leader on that team from 98 on was Lawyer Milloy. (Til Mumbles cut him.) I mean the seas parted for Milloy, that's how much respect and fondness he commanded. Drew was the "official spokesman". But Lawyer was the leader of that team.

Not that Bledsoe was as laid back a leader as Vinny T, because he got in guys' faces in games and in practices if they flubbed up. Terry has said Drew would not throw to a guy if he dropped even one pass, and that helped receivers to concentrate. Bledsoe has something of an edge, but I can see why his edge is perceived as "whiney". He' s just not that forceful, that dynamic an individual. Manning, Vick, Favre, McNabb, Pennington...Daunte they all have more charisma and exude more self-confident leadership than Bledsoe. Imo, anyway.

So I am happy to see DB sounding off a bit. We went thru Keyshawn's anti-Gruden bit last year, and we survived. If Bledsoe has a bit more fire in him this season because he feels he has something to rub in Wilson and Donahoe's faces, GOOD!

Well, since Bledsoe is coming from a division where he faced John Abraham, Jason Taylor, and Richard Seymour six times a year, things can only be looking up for him in Dallas.

"Well, when reporters ask hiimthe same question over and over, what is he supposed to do?"

Ouch, you stole my thunder.

I was going to say that I, like Bledsoe, have to repeat myself over and over again, but not because I'm obsessive. It's more on the order of, people are just too dim to understand complex statements the first time or the second or the third.

After a while one starts to believe that the presenter has the fault and attempts to modify his statements more lucid. But not to worry a quick checksum against an intelligent person confirms.... average people don't have average intelligence, they are gifted by non-logarithmic intelligence.

HMMMMM........Very interesting comment. I Think.

Thank-you for the recap and extra effort fellas.
AS: Cowboys ice their own kicker in 19-13 OT loss

“That is one of the luxuries of my position as owner as well as the ultimate decision maker, general manager and president – I can do that and take the losses and come back for more,” Jones said.
