Actually, on Channel 215 it says "you are authorized for this program".
If you can asleep tonight w/o seeing it, more power to you...

I just talked with a rep, and she hooked me up with the $199 special with no problems.

I went to 215 and it says subscribe now for 4 payments of $54.75 each. Never mind that I have been a Sunday ticket subscriber for about 4 years now.
Thanks DirecTV, I guess I have to call for the $199 rate. If you have issues, threaten to go to cable, otherwise they ignore you.
Also the local thing is terrible if locals aren't in your area. Do people actually still watch TV on "rabbit ears"?

Well....you suck.

My parents are long time Patriot fans in New Hampshire. They have had numerous problems with Patriot fans in Northern New England. Apparently, DirecTV will give you an out of area network affiliate and for some reason, still black out the Patriot games.
I'll just keep my digital cable.

Personally I can't compare staying at home and going to a sportsbar. If I'm out I don't get nearly as much out of a game - I can't do my own replays, I can't pause it, I can't see as much of what's going on. If I go out I feel like I'm getting half the game. Then I also don't have it recorded, so I can't go back and study it later. I couldn't imagine going to a sports bar at this point, I'd be miserable.

Really? Did you actually say "I would like to cancel my service. I am going to cable due to its superior customer service and lack of support from DirecTV."
I did that and they fell all over themselves trying to help me. Free service on my dish. Discounted service for six months.

Updated my account now, have the ticket again for $199. No reason given for the cancellation, other than saying it what terminated on May 13th.

I see your point JD. I don't have quite the luxuries that you do. Sounds like you have TiVo.
Trust me, there are times at the sports bar where I wanted to get up and belt someone. One time it was a Cowboy fan who rattled the cages of Steeler fans when Dallas led by 10 points in the 4th quarter. I hate those Cowboy fans. Talk your talk after the game is over.
What I can't stand is the Eagle fan that is always near the Cowboy crowd heckling us, but when the Eagles are losing, he disappears.
It was a lot of fun though being inthe sports bar when Randall Williams returned that opening kickoff against the Eagles two seasons ago. That was sweet.

Don't call DTV Customer Service. Instead, call their retention department at 1-800-600-8977.
Why call that number? You won't get an outsourced call to India for one. Secondly, they want to keep your business and will hook you up if you say the right thing. Think free DVR, credit on your bill, that sort of thing.

That's the number people call when they get an hdtv directv and then find out they have to shell out money for the oval dish. You call that number and tell them you want hdtv but don't want to pay for a dish, so you're going to get digital cable instead and they send you the dish for free.
