I guess then ANYONE won't be picking the Eagles anytime soon then huh?

You know, as geeked as I am for this upcoming season, I do realize that Dallas will not be serious contenders until they line up to Philly and smack them in the mouth (figure of speech).

Much like the 41-14 smackdown the Eagles gave Dallas on opening day 2000.

Dallas will have to throttle the Eagles to convince me that they are really there.

I want so bad for that to happen it's not funny.

Dallas has to get over that Philly hurdle first, then the sky is the limit in this watered down league.

A picture of Owens standing on the star in your endzone with Williams walking away and the score (49-21) on the screen isn't exactly a "subtle barb".

No, what happened before I can remember means as much to me as the three championships we won in the the pre-modern era.

What's annoying is that it's coming from someone who's in the same boat as me, someone who picked up a team in his youth already with Super Bowls using them in an arguement that has nothing to do with whatever you're talking about.

Huh?

Well let's see who has the better memories of getting to the Super Bowl:

I posted this about a week or two ago:

Well, until the Eagles WIN as many Super Bowls as Dallas, you will keep hearing this from us.

Also, don't think about bringing up "The past doesn't mean squat" crap either. Why? Because it does.

See, those who hide behind the "The past doesn't mean squat" philosophy are those who cheer for a team that has not had much success during their history.

So let's see

Philadelphia =
Established 1933 (73 seasons)

Played 1012 Games
Won 471
Lost 516
Tied 25
Winning Percentage 47.78%
Winning seasons 29 (in 73 seasons is 39.7%)
Division Titles 11 (in 73 seasons is 15.1%)
Years in Postseason 19 (in 73 seasons is 26.0%)
Postseason Games 31
Postseason Games Won 15
Postseason Games Lost 16
NFL/NFC Championship Games Played 9
NFL/NFC Championship Games Won 5
NFL/NFC Championship Games Lost 4
Super Bowls Played 2
Super Bowls Won None
Super Bowls Lost 2

Dallas =
Established 1960 (45 seasons)

Played 728 Games
Won 415
Lost 307
Tied 25
Winning Percentage 57.41%
Winning seasons 28 (in 45 seasons is 62.2%)
Division Titles 17 (in 45 seasons is 37.8%)
Years in Postseason 26 (in 45 seasons is 57.78%)
Postseason Games 54
Postseason Games Won 32
Postseason Games Lost 22
NFL/NFC Championship Games Played 16
NFL/NFC Championship Games Won 8
NFL/NFC Championship Games Lost 8
Super Bowls Played 8
Super Bowls Won 5
Super Bowls Lost 3

See, Philly may have the bragging right over the last 5 years, but Dallas has the bragging rights for eternity.

So which team's fans have enjoyed the expirience more? Dallas or Philly?

The future may look brighter for Philly right now, but there are no guarantees in life.

================

So who has the better memories?

wait wait how am I in the smae boat as you, i GREW UP living breathing cowboys in football season, thats all i watched thats all i saw, so i didnt pick up on it, and second its easy to go pick up on a team whne its winning and drop them win its losing its harder to sit there through three ONE TWO THREE consecutive losing season and still be a true fan, even when my city gets a new team to follow. and third the last time i checked you dont get anything for getting to the SB execpt maybe the 31 draft pick. so reall yyou ahve nothing to prove you've been to one SB in the past what 10 years. What because you've choked on the NFC stage three times that makes you bigger than us, go learn something

well watching your team choke the past 5 years well that just makes me smile. The cowboys not making the playoffs seem that much less of pain, when i watch your precious team get back their beloved player only to choke in the big game, and have their QB puke.

The Eagles are still the team to beat in the NFC.....Minny will be very good IMHO....Atlanta will only improve if Vick improves his accuracy. Dallas is a year away only if Henson improves. Bledsoe is not the answer.

The Patriots, Ravens (if they get a decent QB....which I doubt) and Pittburgh will battle it out to the SB. The Chief and Raiders and Indy don't have the defence to reach the SB IMHO.

You probably can't remember your last Super Bowl win, correct? Neither can I. I never called you an "untrue" fan, I said you were young and it's annoying when you talk about things that happened before you were born. And you do get something for winning the NFC, the George S. Halas, which means nothing.

A season with double digit wins is a lot easier to sit through than a season with double digit losses. I was an Eagles fan when we went 3-13 in 1998 and 5-11 in 1999, the Super Bowl was "funner".

It's so easy to be negative based on what transpired in 2004. Thankfully we've been asked to project what will happen in 2005, and the Cowboys will be good enough to compete for the NFC East Title. If we can compete for the division we can certainly compete for the conference.

NFC Championship: Dallas vs. Minnesota; Runners up: Philadelphia, New Orleans
Plummeting: Atlanta

AFC Championship: New York vs. Indianapolis; Runners up: Cincinnati, New England
Plummeting: Pittsburgh
