I would take the defensive coordinator from Philly.
I would also be interested in Norm Chow as a possibility. But to early to tell if he can be succesful in the NFL.

Ferentz for sure. He runs a great program in Iowa. I am a bit biased being from Iowa and an ex-Hawk but, TS Elliot!

Interesting how you pick two coaches who are career assistants and have very little chance (if ever) to become head coaches. Many teams are looking to get younger, not older with their head coaches.

My hope is that Bill Parcells is this team's coach for years to come, but if he was gone and I had my pick of any coach (including current coaches), the obvious answer is Bill Belichick. Of course, that's not going to happen, so the realistic answer is Sean Payton. I like him a great deal - even before he got here, and now that he's had a few years in the league under Bill, I think he's one of the league's future stars (coaches).

Age discrimination ?
Not sure what age has to do with it. Question is can a guy get the job done.

Perhaps. Or neither has really been motivated to see a head coaching position. Some coaches are like that. Just like some are perfectly content being in the NCAA.

I want Parcells as long as he can possibly coach. I truley feel that this is his last gig. If he extends his current contract for 2 years past his obligation, I'll be through-the-roof happy.
There aren't many options - if any - better than Parcells. We got lucky in getting him. I'm not trying to boast or anything. But 3 days before he became coach, I predicted it on another board. Call me lucky.
I feel like our team is lucky to have him. We sure needed a change from the interim coaches between JJ and BP ... sometimes, I think he doesn't get the respect he deserves.

I disagree. Being an assistant coach is part of the path you have to take to be a head coach.

That is pretty obvious.
But being a career assistant with it lasting into your sixties is not exactly the preferred path most take.

I do have the perception that Norm Chow would prefer not to be a HC. Some people dread the limelight and the stress that it brings.

I'm not sure that I agree with this. Norm Chow has actually applied for a couple of head coaching jobs but has never been hired as such. I think he wants to try it. I just don't think that anybody trusts him to know anything about defense.

Let's see how wonder-Bill does without his top two coordinators this year. There are many coaches that are not as good once there top generals leave. Look at the abuse Parcells has received when he doesn't win the Super Bowl every year. All of a sudden, Parcells' success was due only to the fact that Belichick was his DC.
