dont know if there are others, but I picked up pro Football Weekly's and Street & Smith's today...PFW had us going 7-9, alone in 2nd place...S&S had us 3rd behind the Giants...both mags picked the Deadskins last

What was the skins record prediction? I'm guessing they get the first pick in the draft next year.

They might if they hadn't traded it away....

Oh that's right. Now I really hope they get that spot. Too funny.

The NFC East could end up in almost any order-- the NFL changes that fast.
I could see either of Dallas, New York, or even Washington catching lightning in a bottle and going far. All of the NFC East teams have talent in place-- heck on paper Julius Jones is the worst starting running back in the division! Barring injury to Donovan McNabb, I would think Philly is probably not going to finish any lower than second place, but stranger things have happened.

I'm sorry but we will NOT be 3rd to the Giants. I honestly believe they are going to be one of the worst teams in football this year. (Along with the Skins)
And 7-9? Are you kidding me ?
These writers are a joke. The offseason we had? The draft we had? The returning injured starters? And we're only going to improve our record by 1 game? GIVE ME A BREAK!

Julius Jones isnt the worst starting RB on paper...
NYG and Wash have little, if any chance to win this division or make the playoffs...

based on what we saw the second half of last yr, he might be the best pure RB in the division...
if someone wants to say he's the least proven thats fine...but he was better than Portis last yr...Westbrook is more explosive as a receiver

While at lunch I checked out the Street & Smith's at the newsstand and it was particularly dreadful.
It actually had a depth chart with "Al Singleton" at ILB.
:picknose:
Overall, it was a glossy-paged waste of paper.

What do you consider a pure 'running back'?
A pure 'running back' isn't just the best rusher.

I wouldn't get too worked up over the predictions. I could see the Giants finishing second or the Cowboys finishing second. I think Eli will improve from last year, but so will our defense, which let us down in the two games with the Giants.
And as giddy as Cowboys fans are over the draft, we still don't know whether this draft class will produce on the field.

Emmitt Smith...
Westbrook isn't the best "pure RB" if that's what you're getting at. He's very explosive, a good player, but you guys could really benefit from a bruising runner. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the reason, IMO, you guys didn't win the SB is you had no one to punish between the tackles. Westbrook can run well between the tackles, using his shiftiness, but he's not that great at being a between the tackles back. He's probably one of the best receiving backs in the NFL.
Portis is vastly overrated...Denver does that to RB's.
Honestly, until Jones becomes a better blocker, receiver, and does what he did for a little while, I won't call him the best RB in the division. I think he will end up being the best back in the NFC East after this year, but for now, I'd say Tiki is the best back in the division. He fixed his fumbling, so....
I honestly don't care what people write in stupid magazines, as long as we prove them wrong on the field.

Man would I love to have an overrated back of Portis's ability. I'd trade Julius Jones for Portis straight up in a heartbeat! They guy put up over 1300 yards last season on a very terrible skins team. In most cases I would agree that Denver turns average backs into superstars, but Portis is a RB can be successful on any team. I think putting up the stats he did last year playing for probably one of the worst teams in the league proves that.
