BP mentioned "another option for RT"...
What (who) do you guys think he was referring to?
He basically said when asked about the RT position, "It should be a good competition. I've got another option in mind if what we have doesn't work out but I'm not telling you guys what that is."
He also said in his pc 2 days ago that it is unlikely that we bring in anyone else to compete for the job.
So what do you think?
Sounds like it is either an unemployed player or someone who is currently on the roster at a different position.
I remember him stating almost the exact same response last year when he was questioned about how he felt about the RCB position. It would later be realized that he was referring to Tyrone Williams who was at the time unemployed and ultimately became our starter.
Thoughts?

His next comment was "Don't speculate on what it is, because you'll be wrong."
That being said.............thoughts?

This is silly and I by no means think this is the mystery man but someone was talking about converting Canty to OT during the draft.
Did he ever play this position or was this just complete hooplah that someone was blowing at me?
I guess my best guess would be moving Flozell to the right and adding Rogers or Petitti or someone to the left. But that doesn't sound all that hard to speculate on so I doubt he was hinting towards that.

Adams moving over with either Rogers or Vollers playing LT.

If so, he was blowing smoke up the reporters - that has been speculated for months.
Whatever it is, I hope he doesn't have to resort to that last option.

i think it may be udfa Sam Wilder out of Colorado, i saw his name in a blurb about how Larry Allen has been taking a mentor role w/ the promising young rookie, i saw him play alot of right and left tackle, being the colorado fan i am, and he might be such a possibility

Quite honestly, I am sick of worrying over the RT. I hope that one of the guys we have work. I am angry that Tucker came in fat. He has soooo much talent, he just has to get the mental part. But if you are gonna come in overweight, well. I dunno what to say about him.
At this point, I just don't know what we are gonna do. If it isn't one of the guys competing now, I just hope he isn't calling Ryan Young back or something.

It could be Allen moving back to right tackle. With the addition of Rivera and the emergence of Al Johnson, it's no longer imperative that we keep Allen at guard to try to shore up the middle, especially if Peterman or someone such as Noll could be OK at left guard. For instance, if Parcells thinks Peterman at guard would be better than Vollers/Pettiti/Tucker, etc. at right tackle, I could see it happening.

I thought about this, but didn't post it a) because Parcells said I would be wrong and b) because I refuted myself. But I don't like disagreeing with you.
My beef on that is, though - I really don't think Allen still has the footwork for tackle. I prefer him at guard.

I agree, Allen has played the position before and could probably still do it. This thought flashed through my mind too when I first read his quote this afternoon.

I think LA didn't have the footwork for it in 2003, but he's since bought into BPs idea of offseason conditioning. He was obviously lighter on his feet last year. Like Adam said, if BP thinks Peterman at G and LA at RT is better then LA at G and whoever at RT then he'll do it.
I don't think Flozell will move over. And I'd bet anyone here $50 that Rogers will NOT start a single game this year at any position.

Anybody's guess is as good as mine.
Though it wouldn't surprise me if Shelton made his way here.
