The footwork required at tackle is extremely important, and, conditioning be durned, I just don't see how he has remastered that...

He looked pretty good in space last year and often dominated his guy on the DL and took out a LB as well. He's not the same LA of 5-7 years ago but he's still All Pro quality. JMO. Don't know about the RT thing but it's not out of the question he could do it. I'd worry more about mobility for an entire game against speed guys. He can handle anything else. Again JMO.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Based on what I saw of LA last year, I doubt he has the foot speed to play tackle anymore. Also what is his weight now, compared to when he played tackle? I think Allen at this point in his career is a guard, and I think moving Flo over to the right side would be a bad idea. He jumps offsides enough in his normal position, can you imagine how many flase starts he would have playing on the other side trying to get a jump on his man. I don't think Canty can play OT, doesn't Nors have him penciled in as our new TE?

I agree. If you go back and watch the JJ highlight videos you can see LA get to the second level downfield 8 to 10 yards. He was blocking LB's very well in open space. If he is in better shape than last year then watch out.

The speculation on the "possible vet tackle" has already gone wacko: at the DMN, the audio program "Sportspeak" had a mini camp wrap-up with Matt Mosley actually dropping the name "Jumbo Elliot".
I kid you not.

I think whoever mentioned Ryan Young might be on track. Does anyone remember the details of his injury? I thought they kind of alluded to the fact that he could possibly return if he healed up. The guy is still only 28.
I don't really want to see Larry at RT this year. I think he still has some balance issues that can be hidden when he is inside mauling at guard, but would be exposed out at RT.
Rivera did play some tackle at Penn State.
Jumbo Elliot is 40 freaking years old. I don't really want to duplicate the Redskins Ray Brown experiment.

Petitti at LT and move FA to RT
Or sign the Tackle from Seattle who is comming off an injury Chris Terry and cut Torrin Tucker
Edit The reason I mention Terry is BP said that he could be an option earlier in the offseason when he could pass a physical. But said that he had to get healthy first before they would even talk to him.

parcells is saying this "option" would only happen if our current guys couldnt get it done. So if the current guys do not get it done why does anyone think one of the guys that couldnt win RT will be named starter at LT which is more important

I remember Parcells naming Petitti as one of the RT canidates. My post wasnt at you directly. I also saw someone mention like Rogers to LT and Flo to RT. It seems to me thats putting someone that didnt impress at RT over at LT and making it weaker.
IMO this is smoke. He said this just so when one of the guys eventually wins the RT job nobody would question it becuase obviously he is good enough or he would have used his other option

I still think that if Flo goes right it's Rogers on the left. Rogers was a three year starter at USC, and if healthy, is our second best tackle on the roster.

You have All Pros in Rivera, Allen and Flo. Very solid center in Johnson. So you have one relative or true weak spot. If you can improve the line more by moving one of your All Pros and insert another player at a better spot for him to succeed then I wouldn't have a problem with that.
The OL needs chemistry as well as talent. I don't care how they get it.

For instance, if Parcells thinks Peterman at guard would be better than Vollers/Pettiti/Tucker, etc. at right tackle, I could see it happening.

I can see this happening too ... I think you're probably right here. Peterman has talent.

Flo
Peterman
Johnson
Rivera
Allen
I could live with that! But Allen at Tackle does concern me somewhat at his gae. But if he's spot on 100% I'm for it

Since he said "don't bother even guessing becuase you won't be right" I'm going to assume its something very absurd, more absurd then moving Larry Allen to a position he has played before at more then one point in his career. My money is on Parcells telling Dan Campbell to add 10 to 15lbs and having him play OT. He is one of the best blocking TE's in the league as it is. I believe he goes around 270lbs already. If he could get up to the mid to high 280's then he would still without question be small for a lineman, but there are some (granted only a few) OL who weigh in in the 280's, so weight wise it wouldn't be unheard of, although admitedly it would be uncommon. If Campbell were to move to OT, it would probably have be LT since RT's are usually more of the huge mauler types and on the left side he would be facing more of the smaller speed rushing types, which I think he would be able to handle fairly well. He is aggressive, a willing and talented blocker, and is quicker then Flozell which might allow him to have more success against the Jevon Kearse types. Its a longshot but my prediction is.....
LT Dan Campbell
LG Larry Allen
C Al Johnson
RG Marco Rivera
RT Flozell Adams
