Default Taking a sack with Dignity

http://www.parentingwithdignity.com/

Drew Bledsoe is going to be releasing his first book soon. Taking a page from Dad, he will attempt to translate his firsthand experiences getting sacked thousands of times and turning that into a learning experience for all the young quarterbacks out there.

A few chapters

* Don't get mad at the Defense after they sack you. They just did their job. Take it out on the Oline - they screwed up.

*The counting to 3 myth - you can sometimes make it to 5 before you get leveled.

* A thrown away ball is an incompletion, think twice about doing that.

* It takes a lot of character to hang in the pocket and get whacked by 300 pound linemen

* The 5 biggest mistakes that you can make that will result in a sack

* Using a sack to get your offense some critical rest late in games

* Once you accept sacks as part of the job, you can turn it into a fun experience

Yes and another two

1) The pocket is your friend, running out of it can get you killed (literally)
2) Using the Tuck rule to your advantage, what I taught Tom Brady will work for you too!

Happy feet are for wussies. take a sack like a man: flat footed and standing tall.
"I could've done a $2 billion takeover (in another industry) with the capital I put in the Dallas Cowboys," he says. "I really could see (myself as) the idiot who had something real good, who blew it all to coach the Cowboys. I just knew that was going to be my legacy." Jerry Jones 9/14/2012

While I'm having fun with my boy Drew.

He doesn't get happy feet. He has a very unique habit. He taps the football with his left hand when under duress and as a play breaks down. Once he starts tapping the football bad things happen. Sacks, fumbles, interceptions.

Our secret.

Geez, a kindred soul you are, Nors.

I once uncovered the fact Ray Lucas was signaling the plays with his butt. As he went thru his cadence, if he wiggled once to the left and twice to the right it would be a run play; if he wiggled twice in both directions, it was always a pass.

I didn't try to contact Tuna and let him know tho, even tho my system for play prediction was foolproof.

Don't you go and make the same mistake now. Share your secrets.

Email Bill or Jerry today.

You think so, huh?

Tuna's only mention of 'the pat' was to compare it to Joe Montana's.

I thought I was going to hurl when I heard that...

Comparing Drew Bledsoe to Joe Montana is like comparing Steve Balboni to Lou Gehrig.

I just hope it's not another indication of how far dear Tuna's dementia has progressed.

If Joe is #1 ( and as far as I am concerned he is) then drew is about #100. However when you remember that there have been THOUSANDS of QB's over the years....
that means that Drew is in the top 1%. Realistically- he is- when he is playing well- probably in the top 10 in the league right now. At his best, probably only 4 or 5 are better then he is. That is QUITE an upgrade over last year. Protect him, and he will do well. He has the tools needed to do the job well.
