What the hell actually happened? Does anybody really know? I've heard he shot up a house, a car and he didn't shoot at all.

Yeah, so it's better to randomly fire a gun than to actually have a target? Please tell me that's not your argument, because that might be the dumbest thing I've ever read. So it's OK to randomly shoot at a house that might or might not have your 'target', even if the house is full of - for instance - children. I mean, if I spray the local orphanage I'm not shooting at a 'target' so I guess it's not that big a deal as long as no children are hurt.
That is simply an all time stupid argument, and for your sake I hope you've been drinking because otherwise you were probably dropped as a baby.

[quote=LaTunaNostra]I am almost always sympathetic to bleeding-heart degree with all the league's self-indulgent bad boys..their substance abuse, their posses, their generational foibles.
But anyone who points a gun at someone needs the rude awakening that only 'the can' can instill.
Didnt Jeb just pass a new law allowing gun brandishing almost anywhere and anytime? Pulling the trigger is another issue. Also whether the new law has taken affect yet I'm not sure of, but they did pass something relevant very recently.

ROFL....
Anyway.... I don't really believe this will end his career. Look at Jamal Lewis. That barely even put a dent in his and he sold 5 mill worth of coke. or at least had a hand in it.... my guess is that some slick lawyer gets Taylor off with some lesser charges, fine, community service and about 57 years of probation.
BUT, wouldn't it be great if he had to wear some big bulky ankle monitor in games? Then in a game versus Dallas he picks off a pass and is headed for the endzone when Roy Williams (who is playing offense for this 1 down for some unknown reason) goes to horse-collar him, remembers the RW rule, and instead dives for the ankle monitor.... which then breaks into 1 million pieces and sends Taylor to prison for the next 5-10 years for removing his monitor. He then drops the ball to the the horrible realization that he's going to jail, Roy picks it up and runs it back for the TD... we win AGAIN.
"They say it makes your testicles shrink,'' Bonds said. "I can tell you my testicles are the same size. They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have."

Allowing gun brandishing?
I might be off on this but I think what they were saying on the Skins board was something about a new no-nonsense law in Fla..a "5-10-20" that brandishing would get you 5, shooting it anywhere.. 10... Don't know what the 20 was, maybe second offense.

If there is a solid witness Taylor is in trouble. He is in the spotlight and he will be the one targeted I bet anything he finds out the guys he's been hanging out with are not friends after all this is over. They will roll on him in a split second to save their own rear.

Think about how many lives 5 mil worth of coke could destroy.

I'm sure he'll "make a friend" that will keep him warm enough... he might get covered with something else.
I heard he might have done this because he thought it might be fun to play for that team in "The Longest Yard".

I know that was tongue in cheek, but if the accusations against Taylor are true, I have NO sympathy for him... the kid's got the world on a silver platter, and he has to go take part in a drive by?? The son of a POLICE CHIEF??
He's a punk, plain and simple, and I won't shed a single tear if he winds up being somebody's prison *****...
OK, I see later on you admitted you didn't really know the details, so perhaps your response is a bit more understandable... I find myself hoping that your opinion has changed just a little since you got the facts...

Comp, my advice to you is to back away from this argument just as quick as you can... when you first posted that silliness, I thought SURELY you were being silly, being sarcastic...
But if you're serious about that, God help you; to seriously argue that he shouldn't face the full wrath of the law because he got LUCKY enough not to hit anybody is just RIDICULOUS, pal... he sure TRIED to shoot somebody, and that means you go to jail (unless, of course, you're defending your own life, which was obviously not the case here)...
And to suggest that Dubya step up and pardon the guy, well, that took your argument from silly to asinine...
