the keys to our season will be the ability of our D rookies to contribute like vets....
if you want me to name 1 it's Canty... just because he was on my pre-draft list and i want to be right about someone.

Who is he? Jason Bell?
Justin Beriault I assume.

When I think in terms of 'rooting for' a player I generally think of the underdog. I mean, I pull for everyone on the team, but I EXPECT guys like Ware and Spears to do well - and everyone else does as well or they wouldn't have been first round draft picks. So for me the guys like Crayton and Davis, who have already been on the team but aren't expected to win starting jobs or be stars, are the ones I'll root for.

All the obvious choices and...
Zuriel Smith. I thought he could play before. Now he has added some size to his game.

Tyson Thompson. He was free and I'm praying he's better than Tatum Bell.

Henson and Ware
I'm surprised Henson isn't getting more votes. If he shows he's the future, then Dallas can scratch off the toughest-to-fill, most-important hole on the team and rest easy for a few years.
Ware, because this team has to have a pass-rusher.
Good quarterback play and putting heat on the opposing QB are so important and Dallas hasn't had either since Haley moved on and Aikman started coming apart.
"That's the fastest-running, slowest-walking guy I've ever seen."

Henson all the way.
I want Henson to make Bledsoe's stay in Dallas as short as possible.

Petitti - If the mauler keeps his weight in check, the Cowboys may have something big here (no pun intended). Massive tackle who could grow into a really tough lineman here. If this kid can get through camp injury free and get the reps he needs, not only will he make this club, he could push for playing time this season. God help us all if this kid gets his confidence going into the season. I really feel the ability is there.
Peterman - I would really like to see this young man going well. After a tough rookie campaign on IR, nothing would make me happier than to see this kid compete for a spot behind Allen or Rivera. His progression would also give us some choices in terms of flexibility on the offensive line. Certainly, he's not ready to challenge either of the incumbents at guard. But if someone were to go down to injury, heaven forbid, my hope is this kid is ready to step in. Again, he must stay healthy through camp.
Beriault - While I don't see Berry-O challenging for the starting free safety spot out of the chutes, this kid just might be an absolute gem. I just hope he kills everything in sight on special teams. After that, simply learn, absorb, and develop.
K. Davis - Here's the easiest one for me. It will be interesting to me seeing where his ball skills are. Reading keys and reacting in a timely fashion will be so important for him as a candidate for the starting FS position. He has the range. Dallas needs ball hawks back there. We already have a hammer.
Ratliff - The final pick of our draft holds a significant amount of intrigue for me. I'm probably rooting for this guy more than any other. Not a lot of glamour out there for a 3-4 defensive end, but a lot of grunt work. I would really like to see this youngster make the club and be part of the DL rotation.
