Default Espn.com Gary Horton chat....(1 'boys blurb)

Gary Horton: (11:03 AM ET ) Hello everyone! I only have time for a few questions today as I have to run .. but let's go!

Joe (Huntsville,AL): Do you like Mueller as the new GM in Miami?

Gary Horton: (11:05 AM ET ) I'm prejudiced because I worked with him! I like him a lot. Like a lot of guys who have been out for a few years, it can be a real advantage because he has been evaluating all the other organizations. He is very prepared and has a strong idea of how to set things up. But Saban is very hands on, like Belichick. Randy's personality, non-confrontational, should mesh very well.

Chris (Detroit): Should Washington cut yheir losses with Sean Taylor?

Gary Horton: (11:06 AM ET ) I don't think you can do that this early, even though this whole thing is a nightmare. He is a very good player. I'm sure they are really looking at whether they should have picked him. They also picked Winslow! That's not a good deal either. But they have to try and turn the kid around.

Scott (Syracuse): Which rookie running back do you think stands the best chance to rush for over 1,000 yards this season?

Gary Horton: (11:07 AM ET ) I think it will be Cadillac. Despite what everyone thinks about the Bucs, he loves to run the ball. They have limited WRs right now and they don't have a QB they can really believe in.

Dave (Erie): With several NFL players getting into off-field legal trouble do you see the NFL cracking down on punishments to prevent this behavior

Gary Horton: (11:08 AM ET ) I think they are very concerned about it. But they have their policies in place and I don't see much changing. Teams will continue to put emphasis on studying kids before they draft them.

3FF (Arlington, VA): Do you think Dan Snyder was cursed in a previous life or did he bring on this bad karma all by himself?

Gary Horton: (11:09 AM ET ) Most people would think he is bringing it on himself .. and probably hope he was cursed at the same time! I've never seen so many people be so negative towards an owner.

J.J. (Omaha): I really like what Dallas has done this off-season. What do you think of the 3-4 move and how do you see them doing this year?

Gary Horton: (11:10 AM ET ) Parcells has always wanted to play a 3-4. He played a scheme a year ago with undersized guys and a run and chase defense which is not his style. He will go bigger and more physical like when he was with the Giants. They drafted personnel with this idea in mind.

Adam (Denver): Is there going to be new blood in the Super Bowel this year?

Gary Horton: (11:11 AM ET ) I'm not sure we will. I think we are looking at Philly and N.E. again. But there will always be surprises. Today I would say we have a repeat in the Super Bowl.

Brook (Teaneck NJ): Gary, with Onterio Smith suspended for the season, who will emerge as the best back in Minnesota?

Gary Horton: (11:12 AM ET ) They really like Mewelde Moore. I think Bennett will produce. They will get production by committee. Mo Williams is a good short yardage back. They aren't worried.

khalil: philly,PA: with the eagles up coming schedule do you think that it is very possible for them to go 13-3 if not better

Gary Horton: (11:13 AM ET ) I think it's a possibility. The super teams like N.E. and Philly could easily get on a roll. There are some average teams in the NFL. If a team gets on a roll and stays healthy, it's possible.

Matt (Ohio): Is Cincy a playoff team this year?

Gary Horton: (11:13 AM ET ) I like them a lot. So my answer is yes. They really made nice progress this offseason.

Ryan (DC): Why does it seem everyone has said Gibbs can't coach anymore? He has been back one year and still knows how to get a team to play hard. Doesn't he deserve more respect?

Gary Horton: (11:15 AM ET ) I think you always have to respect him for what he has done. He is a legend. But I also think it is a different game from when he left. The salary cap, how you get players, etc. Coaches are doing a better job adjusting to schemes. It's a different game. I'm a huge Gibbs fan but I'm sad when I see them struggling.

Ben (San Fran): How Long until the 49ers return to former glory (or do we need a new owner)

Gary Horton: (11:16 AM ET ) I think it will be a long time, even if Smith is as good as hoped. They just aren't a very good team with a ton of holes to fill. Right now, I don't have much trust in the organization.

Chris (Detroit): What team will T.O. be distracting this year? Will it still be Philly or some one else?

Gary Horton: (11:18 AM ET ) Yes, it will be distracting because T.O. will want it to be distracting. The Eagles will try to make it a non-issue. But TO will keep it in everyone's mind. It will be an issue, because everyone wants to talk about it.

I really hate to cut it off today, but I have some coaches in town that I am taking to ''brunch'' .. I know that doesn't sound like a very coach-type thing to do .. but we're doing ''brunch''. I'll make sure to stick around for a full hour next week to make up for it. Thanks!

I swear this Gary Horton guy is such a master of the obvious. It's like he read that from a script.
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

Sorry. It is a bit hard to take this fellow's opinion seriously when he does not even know who plays where.

How do these people keep their jobs? The above statement is totally inept.

Well, I feel informed! I am ready for anything now.

No kidding about this guy knowing his stuff. And...they pay him for doing this? I could have offered these brilliant opinions. Wow. That's amazing.

He's mixing up Kellen with his father. That's why.

LOL, i saw that and i thought, HUH am i missing something, is this a typo or is there another player with same last name.

A good majority of these reporters either A) state the obvious or B) throw out their own oppionion based on a vary narrow amount of research.

I assume he means that they were debating between choosing Winslow and Taylor. As for the Cowboys comments, anybody could have written that. A total waste of time.

This one was particularly insightful----

Oh re-he-he-he-he-ally?
