What are possible trades ...
That could be made by the Cowboys this year given our personnel?
And/or, if you had your choice what kind of trade would you make?

I could see us trading Ellis. Or making a trade for a WR.

I think we are right where we want to be, personell wise. I could see glover being moved after this year because he is not the prototypical dt for a 3-4, but I think parcells wants to keep him now during the transition because he's proven himself trustworthy and he wants to maintain some continuity in the box from last year. In my mind, there are no players that are on the trading block right now around the league that suit our needs enough to give up one of our guys for.

With the human trade rumor -- Dexter Coakley -- gone, it's hard to imagine anyone else being shipped.

I could see us trading Ellis, but for who? If we traded Ellis our DE rotation wouldn't be as deep ... and if we did trade Ellis, Glover may play some DE.
I also don't agree with the assesment that Glover can't play NT in the 3-4. You don't have to be a fat ace there, you just have to take on the double teams and be a force against the run.

The only reason I think there may be a possible trade is because we have so many DE's.

I doubt there would be much market for Ellis. Howard couldn't get dealt. Nobody is interested in Alexander, James, etc. I think the trade market is pretty thin.

I have 2nd hand knowledge that Ellis has been on the block leading up to draft. Chances of him getting moved - Low.
He and Glover are valuable rotation guys who can play some 4-3 looks. Key here is Canty's recovery. He's ready day 1 we are wise to move Ellis for a WR if we could puul it off. Look for teams deep at WR. Cardinals? Pats? Rams?
Ellis for Sean McDonald and a 3rd in a heartbeat.

According to Jim Rome (who I can't stand) We had a deal almost done sending Glover to Detroit on draft day. but again its just something he reported a few days after the draft.
I could see Glover being traded considering He's set to make 4.5mil in base salary next season (06). More than likely this would be his last season here anyway so why not trade him while his value is still fairly high. Now what could you get for him is the question? If we could get a third and fifth for him next year I'd do it

These trade Ellis and trade Glover threads are getting old. Neither is going anywhere. We finally get some decent depth on our D-line and people start thinking all kinds of crazy thoughts. The key to the success of our D during the super bowl run in the 90's was our depth along the line. We had a hella good pass rushing DE and enough depth to keep coming after our opponets all game long. Depth - it's a good thing.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.
