Tony Romo just on 103.3
unfortunately, I got a phone call just as it was starting. It'll repeat later today. Did anyone catch it?

My question is how did he pull himself away from his game of golf long enough to do a radio spot?

I heard it... It was a lot of nothing, honestly. He feels more comfortable than he ever has. Just has to play well when he gets his chance. It's definitely harder for smaller-school guys to get a chance, but coaches and teammates don't care where a guy comes from as much as the media seems to. What separates Bledsoe from Quincy and Vinny is Drew's extreme confidence in himself... He stepped in and took over from his first day, unlike the other two guys.
That was about it... Not much.

I have to give credit to the Dallas area media. They do twice as many player interviews as the Tampa Bay area does over here. Of course, the Tampa area sports radio is at the bottom of the barrell anyway.
Just my thoughts. You guys are luckier than you think. I'm glad I found this site.
Thanks for the report, Lab.

I like that in a player. Especially those that are suppose to be good. They can step up without offending others or stepping on anybody's toes ... and even if they do step on a few toes along the way, deal with it. As long as he delivers its all gravy.

This is hardly impressive.
Carter could not step in and take over, Tony Banks was our QB at the time.
Vinny could not do the same as he was behind Carter.
Bledsoe was handed the starting job before the ink was dry on his contract.
I would be pretty confident too if I had things handed to me on a silver platter.

Still, the attitude that it's his offense to lead and the he can get the job done is what you want.
I'd rather him take charge and lead than simply expect the team to follow him because he did walk in as a starter.

Said he sees a difference in the attitude of the team from last year. Last year they didn't have the sense of urgency that he saw in the minicamp this year.

Romo wasn't here when Quincy was a rookie. He apparently is saying when Quincy was the starter he didn't "take control"(leadership) and neither did Vinny when he was the starter.
