Default Switzer's coaching record

Switzer resigned from his coaching position at Oklahoma early in 1989, with a career record of 157-29-4. His winning percentage of .837 is fourth-best all-time, and he posted remarkable records against several famous contemporaries, going 3-0-1 against Darrell Royal, 12-5 against Tom Osborne, 5-3 against Jimmy Johnson, 2-0 against Bobby Bowden and 1-0 against Joe Paterno and Woody Hayes.

Switzer resigned as Cowboys' coach with a 45-26 career NFL coaching record.

I only remember the superbowl, I blanked out the rest. If it takes going through what we went through again for another one, then I would gladly sign up.

I could care less why/how, just the end result. Also, I don't recall Switzter doing anything to facilitate a loss. It was Pittsburg that had all of the mental breakdowns. So how did we win inspite of Barry?

Hell I like Switzer, always did. The guy is still the 3rd best Cowboys' Coach in history who got us Dieon and took us on to our 5th Super Bowl Championship. And untill Parcells can bring us a ring, he'll always play 4th fiddle to Barry's 3rd.

People act like he was the worst coach in team history or something.

But he did something that many haven't done. He did coach a team to a Super Bowl win.

And he did not do it simply taking over the same team and coasting to a repeat, as George Seifert did. We did it a season removed from Johnson.

Fans are bitter because of the gaffe in the NFC championship and his quirky ways, but give the man some credit at least.

I dislike Switzer because during his tenure is when the reins were loosened and the Cowboys players began to dot the news in negative fashion. Scandal after scandal and the late night talk shows skewered us.

I never cared for an undisciplined coach. Never will.

Very true, but we knew what we were getting. It is not like he never had that problem in Oklahoma.

But again, he deserves credit for the football (on the field) portion. Not the team management.

Jerry Jones did not help the situation either.
