Jean Jacques Taylor Roger Staubach with GaC on ESPN 103-Dallas...

Staubach:
  • Landry criticized us, just not in the media.
  • Landry didn't like running QB's.
  • When Tom announced that myself and Craig would alternate plays at QB I thought he had a concussion.
  • Danny White was treated unfairly with the switch to Hogeboom. He was a top-notch QB.
  • Troy was the best thing to happen to Dallas in the 90's. No offense to Emmitt or Irvin.
  • Meredith started the winning tradition of the Cowboys as well as the tradition of top-notch QB's.
  • The NASCAR venture with Troy also involves Joe Gibbs.
  • I don't have time to run for governor of Texas. (He would win in a landslide).

Unless he ran against Lance Armstrong. Who I am predicting will run on the Democratic ticket in the future.

I agree...he would win the governor's seat in a heartbeat, and probably do a much better job...
"... in the scouting/front office communities, Cowboyszone is considered to be the best fan site in the NFL by a pretty wide margin, and is considered to be right up there with the best fan sites in all of sports. You'd be floored by some of the people who have accounts here, and regularly check this site. You might be careful spouting off too many crazy opinions, you could have real NFL GMs with multiple Super Bowl rings laughing at you."

Roger probably would win a Gubernatorial race.As for Troy and Roger's venture ,Joe Gibb's Racing is simply supplying engines and chassis.Still sleepin' wit' 'da enemy to me!
Some of you will die, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

I have long believed the first point above about Tom's treatment of Danny White. Landry and others hung him out to dry a bit. I didn't like that. Danny was a pretty decent QB and as a person deserved better.

Putting Aikman #1 amongst the triplets is one heck of a statement by Roger. But I believe that Michael agrees with him though it may be in part because Aikman stood by Michael when he was at his lowest. I have a feeling Emmitt would want to say himself but go pc and say they were all equal. Troy I think would say Emmitt.

My classmate just relayed to me that Tom Osborne, former coach of Nebraska, is a senator with a voter approval of over 80% Now that is what I call love for your coach.

Funny stuff about the concussion.

Good read, thanks for the recap trick.

Well, the tradition at QB seems to have taken a little break.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Thanks for posting, Trick. I love Staubach interviews.

A timely reminder to all the Danny White-haters: someone close to the situation, with way more insight than you, confirms what some of us already knew- Danny White was a very good QB who got screwed and deserves a much brighter legacy...

My all time #1 memory of Danny White is this little quote from Tom:

"No Danny no!!!"
