Norm: Price comments from Stephen Jones
They have had talks. Expects to have further discussions. Has good relationship with Bledsoe. Have not gotten into specific contract requirements. Will meet with his representatives later today.
I'm taking a hell of a beating back here!

Cool....we need four good WR's on this team. QM is good as gone, maybe we can get a 5th or 6th for him...but then again why would anyone trade if he's going to be released anyways....

Ah crap.
I feel sorry for Crayton really, cuz he's the one that'll end up getting screwed in this.

IF so....then bye-bye Quincy Morgan.
Also, note to Cowboys owner and management...Please never ever draft, trade for or sign as a free agent anyone with the name Quincy.

Stephen with NORM:
- discussion about the Saints stadium situation
- bunch of Texas Stadium security talk
- Peerless price talk:
- talked with agent, talks will be ongoing
- what direction are talks going (thumbs up/down)? - no lean yet
- trying to understand/communicate peerless' expectations
- bledsoe and peerless had a good relationship and respect each other
- no money talks as of yet
- visiting with agent in a few hours
- no insight on number of teams interested in peerless, but there are others.

Some of you will die, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Injury contingency plans. What is the Cowboys cap space right now in case the Cowboys needed to find a replacement due to an injury?
Still in great shape. We have a very good cap situation so that we can bring in any player if the situation arises.
Do you handle negotiations with players?
Yes. Not all of them, but our bigger players and first round picks. We have other guys in the organization that handle more of the minimum contract players?
Are you in discussions with Peerless Price?
We have had talks with him, and we will have more upcoming.
Thumbs up or thumbs down on how those negotiations are going?
Hard to know. Its early in the process. He’s played with Bledose and had a great success with him, and that’s a great plus for us. They respect each other. As far as what his expectations are, that will have to unfold.
He was a success as a #2 WR in Buffalo and went to Atlanta to be #1 and failed. Is Price askng for significant money or a mid to lower range price?
We haven’t gone so far as to talk about dollars and cents. We just wanted to let him know that we had a sincere interest in him, and he had a sincere interest in us. We’ll talk again in a few hours, and I’m sure dollar amounts will be discussed then.
Have they mentioned how many teams are competing for his services?
An exact number wasn’t mentioned, but they said they have received interest from more than 1 team.
What would you do with a situation like Terrell Owens?
I have to commend Philly, they’ve handled it about as well as you can handle it. You expect a player 1 year into his contract he signed to live up to it. If you rework a contract after every year, I’ll have 40 guys knocking on my door wanting to rework their contract. It couldn’t have been handled any better.
Is management in the NFL quietly cheering for the Eagles?
I don’t ever cheer for the Eagles. *laughs* Yeah, I think everyone respects what they’re doing. Every decision you make effects other decisions. There are domino effects.
If Owens became available, would the Cowboys be interested in him?
Commenting on that could be perceived as tampering, but in general our goal around here is to get players that respect the game and are team players.

Crayton isn't getting screwed by having to compete for his job. If LeRoi Glover and Al Johnson have to compete for their roles, then Crayton should too.

Crayton's play will make sure he gets good time. I like our wideouts, but 1 is very injury prone. This is all about depth with people who can start and be effective.

It's not the competition I'm worried about. It's the fact that Bledsoe will likely "Feel more comfortable" with Price, and that will push Crayton down the depth chart a spot. Price is a waste of a roster spot. He refused to play special teams in Atlanta, why would he do it here (he'll be 3rd or 4th on the depth chart).
That said, if he becomes a cowboy I'll support him 100%. I just hope Bledsoe doesn't automatically favor Price cuz of their past success.
