ESPN.com Pasquarelli: Hot Summer - AB and Hutch
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...len&id=1840928
Cowboys blurb:
Wide receiver Antonio Bryant is back in Dallas and working out, but still hasn't been to the Cowboys facility. That said, now that his much-ballyhooed spat with Bill Parcells in minicamp has calmed down a bit, Bryant is expected to be in training camp. ... The Cowboys almost certainly will release quarterback Chad Hutchinson in the next week to 10 days and at least two teams have indicated some interest in auditioning him when he is free. ...

Hmmm, gonna take a stab at the two teams interested in Hutch...Synder and Cleveland.

Interesting, Gibbs and Butch Davis/Campo.
Ramsey still has to be considered the future in DC, and Hamden looked at least as
capable as Hutch in NFLE, so they have a vet in Brunnell, a very promising young QB, and a second year developmental prospect. Plus whatever else they are bringing in to training camp as fodder. That one doesn't sound like Chad's best bet to me.
I'd love to hear you elaborate on Cleveland tho. Do you think Dave C would or could sell Hutch to Davis? And if so, enough to get a conditional latter round pick for him?

I just went that way due to the Synder/Campo factor. With Washington Synder has a fondness of grabbing ex-Cowboys, with Campo I figured he'd put a word in for Hutch and with Garcia they'd be willing to take Hutch in as a backup.
I'm confused on the conditional pick? I thought we only get that if his contract runs out and he signs elsewhere, or were you referring to a possible trade?

Yeah, I was referring to a possible trade, which doesn't seem likely.
I've been hoping the reason Chad has not been released yet is his shoulder is getting better and when it is, he will be able to pass an exit physical and one for his new team, and something can be garnered for him.
But frankly, I'm more concerned for him getting as ideal a situation as possible than I am with one more conditional seventh that gets you the same quality you can get with an undrafted rooke free agent.
I also don't want to see Chad hung onto all summer while the team is trying to shop him for a pittance, and then at the end of preseason, he is in the batch of final cuts. Then the kid is screwed, as every team will have its roster set.
The fairest thing to do for him, imo, is once he is fully recovered, release him and let him find the best situation.
That could even be in Canada, because this guy needs to PLAY.

I do not believe there is any good spot for a bum like Hutchless but even if I am wrong, I am certain that Canada is not in the cards for him. He is waaaaaayyyyyyy too immobile for Canada.

San Fran would seemingly HAVE to be in the mix..
In SF's first vet mini camp, on the 1st play, Tim Rattay tore his groingmuscle off his pelvic bone and to my knowledge he's donr for the year
Not that Rattay was a sure thing wither
Now its Ken Dorsey time!!!!
With 27 mil in dead money and Hutch's vet min base salaries and Hutch attending Stanford it would seem like a perfect fit..
Then, the Niners should sign Richmond Flowers
Hutch and Richmond in SF,,,seems so natural

I recently highlighted San Fran as the most likely team to give us something for Chad. Throw AB in and it gets interesting........

Nors, think Dennis Erickson is anxious to take AB on after having to deal with TO?
Instead of teams that could use a third receiver, it might come down to head coaches who don't mind a head ache.

Cool your jets Norsey... AB isn't going anywhere. Just like Ty Law isn't coming to Big D.

Ty Law isn't coming. Gildon isn't coming but........I'm not so sure about AB though.
I'd like him to stay, but I'm not convinced he is for sure.
Time draws near.

AB is on the rox here- cool your jets!
Law is no lock to be a Patriot this year and there's a serious chance in 2005 he's jetted cap side if not 2004.
