Default ESPN - Bryant cleared by Jerry Jones to rejoin Cowboys

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1846837

IRVING, Texas -- Receiver Antonio Bryant is keeping his job with the Dallas Cowboys, despite having thrown a sweaty jersey at coach Bill Parcells.

Bryant met Monday with Parcells and team owner Jerry Jones to clear the air between them prior to the start of training camp Friday in Oxnard, Calif.

"He looks to be in good shape, and he wants to be on the team," Jones said. "He's ready to put in the type of commitment that it takes."

Jones did not say what was discussed at the meeting. He added that no punishment had been decided.

Bryant is the team's third receiver, working behind Keyshawn Johnson and Terry Glenn. His role in the offense was at the root of his spat with Parcells, which occurred last month during a minicamp workout at team headquarters.

While Bryant's emotions can sometimes get the most of him, he's also a talented, young player. He's caught 83 passes for 1,283 yards and eight touchdowns his first two seasons.

"He's getting another opportunity," Jones said. "I certainly believe if your heart is in the right place, you should have second chances."

During his time away from Dallas, a few teams had called about trading for him, but the Cowboys apparently wanted a significant draft pick in return.

Maybe his performance in camp will ultimately determine the severity of his punishment.

Good find thanks T.

No doubt - I hope he makes the most of it.

I'm anxious to see what he can do after his lasik surgery in the off-season. I'm hoping like hell that his vision was the problem with his dropped balls and bobbled passes.

I'm also anxious for the spoiled little punka$$ brat to grow out of him. I was ecstatic when we drafted him and will be so happy if he lives up to his potential.

Me too - that is a very good explanation as to those dropped balls right in his hands.

If he keeps his head on his shoulders - he's going to have a big year.

I'm rootin' for this kid more than any on the team.

I'm in the same boat. It would be great if he became a true stud reiever and on our roster for years.

Talk about being on a short leash though. AB is really going have to stay focus and not let the little stuff light his fuse.

I love his passion and competiveness but that has to be channeled into production on the field.

He has the skills, undeniably.

It's all up to him mentally.

Hopefully now AB will grow up and learn his role. This is his last chance.

Yep - there is NO QUESTION this is his last chance.

I am somewhat surprised he's gotten this 'last chance' to begin with.

Man I hope he makes it.........

I don't think you will find any one who is rooting against this guy. We need him to step up and be a Pearson or Irvin kind of WR. We need playmakers. There are some good candidates on the roster now and AB is close to the top of the list.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.
