ST. PAUL, Minnesota (Sports Network) - The National Football League has suspended Minnesota Vikings (news) defensive end Kenny Mixon (news) for two games after he violated the league's substance abuse policy
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reported Tuesday that Mixon is appealing the suspension and a decision is expected before the start of the regular season.
Mixon was suspended in November after being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. It marked his third such arrest in 16 months. He was twice convicted of DUIs and last spring spent 30 days in the Hennepin County workhouse on work release.
The 29-year-old Mixon started all 16 games for Minnesota last season and recorded 52 tackles and four sacks.
Mixon joined the Vikings as a free agent from the Miami Dolphins (news) in March of 2002. In six NFL campaigns, he has played in 91 contests, including 82 starts, and has totaled 256 tackles, 15 sacks and two interceptions.

What an idiot......how many times does the guy have to get caught before he quits drinking and driving? Like he can't afford a taxi....or even a limo.

Hope this one sticks.
I think the guy behind Mixon is Darrion Scott, who has some run block skills, but is mostly potential as of now. I won''t mind seeing them start rookie Udeze and Scott in Game One.
Of course Teddy C might be even more prone to go 3-4 now and that skews the picture.
