Default After this year's free agency and draft, do you still 100% "Trust in Bill?"

I'm just curious where other Cowboys fans stand on this now. Parcells has made some decisions this year that could be questionable to the average joe.

- Not pursuing a veteran or 1st/2nd/3rd round cornerback.

- Not pursuing a veteran or 1st round running back.

- No veteran (yet!) to backup Quincy. (Or for some Cowboy fan, not getting someone to start over Quincy this year.)

- Canning Larry Allen.

- Not staying with the #22 pick for a team that needs help now.

He's also made some good calls:

- Adding Keyshawn to the roster.

- Adding Wiley to the roster.

- Stocking up draft picks next year.

- Not wasting money on has-beens and never-will-be vets.

How do you view the "Parcells Express" now after following him during his first offseason?

I voted complete trust. I was pissed yesterday after the draft decisions but I'm going to TIB. I'm going to trust his running back evaluations and hope that Kevin Jones and Steven Jackson weren't worth first round picks like St. Louis and Detroit thought they were. Here's hoping Julius Jones is the next great back in Dallas!

Default Parcells the Personell guy vs. Parcells the coach

I think you have to divorce the two in your mind. If you are going to distrust BP because he passes over players with better potential, you are not seeing the full picture. Parcells brings in guys who he can work with. It really is as simple as that. His teams have not been the most talented in the league, but they have been assembled to play well together and most of the players are "true football guys". That's what he's building here. If Parcells was not coaching a team, I doubt anyone would hire him to be their GM----consultant? Sure; GM? No way.

I will vote "complete", even tho the sarcastic "brilliant off-season moves" would make anyone shy away from that choice.

The moves have not been brilliant.

What they have been is consistent, made with consideration of long term team and championship building. Always, but always relective of the philosophy. Perhaps, relentlessly so, which is what might be putting some folks off.

Columnist Randy Galloway, I noticed, has recently shed his reservations. Perhaps it was the Henson signing. Perhaps yesterday's unwillingness to settle for a marginally readier tailback, when the FO could have done so easily, and drawn the laurels of the fanbase, and chose to go with two firsts next year, so a TRUE impact player could be acquired.

But somewhere along the line, all those who value strategic planning over impulse buying, will get sold on the Bill and Jerry show. And all those who realize that what superlative coaching did with last year's roster is just a glimpse of what can and will be, will vote the first option.

This off-season has been no willy-nilly, ("hog-wild" as Parcells called it yesterday), buy-now-pay- later, spur of the moment euphoria.

Every move has been calculated; therefore, not glamourous. Every piece fits, has its carefully place in the scheme of things, and none, (not even the disgruntled Allen) will be discarded w/o value in return.

The Redskins can keep their "brilliant" tag.

Two years from today, when the Cowboys are across the board as strong as the Eagles, and as competitive, or more so, we will see which approach was brilliant. As we see what decision after decision of the Jones/Rogers/Peterson type adds up to: a team, of nasty, blue collar, diehard "Parcells Guys", the detractors will be silenced, and the fence-straddlers won over.

"Luck" won't have to figure into the equation as the primary factor.

The team shall simply be, "dominant."

- Not pursuing a veteran or 1st/2nd/3rd round cornerback.
THE COWBOYS ARE GOING WITH HUNTER.

- Not pursuing a veteran or 1st round running back.
WE DIDN'T NEED TO SPEND A 1ST ON A RB AND COULD STILL GET A VET AFTER JUNE 1ST.

- No veteran (yet!) to backup Quincy. (Or for some Cowboy fan, not getting someone to start over Quincy this year.)
THE COWBOY BRASS LOVES THE WAY QC IS PROGRESSING THIS OFFSEASON. THERE IS STILL VINNY IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

- Canning Larry Allen.
HE IS STAYING WITH THE COWBOYS THIS YEAR

- Not staying with the #22 pick for a team that needs help now.
WE GOT THE PLAYER WE WERE TARGETING ALL ALONG PLUS A ADDITIONAL 1ST ROUNDER NEXT YEAR. BRILLIANT MOVE.

He's also made some good calls:

- Adding Keyshawn to the roster.
AGREED. BIG UPGRADE OVER JOEY

- Adding Wiley to the roster.
AGREED. BIG UPGRADE OVER EKUBAN

- Stocking up draft picks next year.
AGREED. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE VALUE OF THOSE

- Not wasting money on has-beens and never-will-be vets.
AGREED. JJ LEARNED FROM DEION THAT WILL ONLY HURT YOU.

WE ARE NOT A SUPER BOWL CONTENDER THIS YEAR. THAT MEANS YOU ARE A REBUILDING TEAM. SO FAR THIS OFFSEASON...

I'm didn't vote because the narrative in the choices doesn't describe how I feel. No one is ever 100% accurate or infallible. Everyone makes mistakes. I fully trust Parcells to lead our team based on his record with all the other teams he has turned around. He has made mistakes before and he will again, but there is no other person I would prefer to coach our team.

It doesn't mean I agree with 100% of his decisions. I don't. I thought he was foolish for cutting Ross last year. If he wanted him gone we could have traded him in the off-season. There are other examples as well.

But that being said, I trust him 100% to return the Cowboys to prominence. There is a differance between trusting him and agreeing with all his decisions.

I'm surprised the amount of doubters is close to the amount who still have unshakeable trust. I thought more people would still be 100% behind Parcells. Looks like a lot of people aren't happy with the draft decision yesterday.

Then you answer would be the first choice, you still have complete trust in Parcells. That's all I'm asking: What kind of trust do you have in Parcells? It has nothing to do with mistakes, I realize humans aren't perfect. It's just a simple poll to see if everyone still has complete trust in what Parcells is doing to rebuild this franchise into a Super Bowl winning franchise.

We are still a long way from the season. Who knows, we may add Curtis Martin, Vinny after June 1st cuts. Also who knows how many other quality players might be available after June 1st? In addition, we won't have to shell out 1st round money on our first pick. Maybe this will give us more leverage after June 1st. I admit, I was upset that we didn't take the #1 back in the draft, but I trust that Parcells will make the right decision. I am glad to have a RB period. Now we can take some pressure off Quincy.

Yeah, with the comment "Brilliant offseason moves!" I'm 100% trusting that that is what you meant.

Even I don't have 100 percent trust in Bill. But it's getting closer as I've seen him change in so many ways (for the better) since he led the Jets.

He's more willing to play youth now, more willing to appreciate defensive speed as opposed to size, less willing to kill the cap on overpriced FAs like the Eric Greens and Steve Atwaters, more likely to curtail the demands of his ego and work well with his FO.

He's a 62 year old man with the capacity to adapt to the changing nature of the game. He has become less inflexible over time, without sacrificing his fundamental belief that it is by wearing down your opponent that you win, not by dazzling them. He hasn't become set in his ways, but has expanded his POV.

But he still prefers, thank heavens, mean-streaked, nasty, surly, on the cusp of dirty, super-aggressive, hyped up offensive linemen who congratulate their TD scoring tailbacks by trying to strangle them.
