Default With respect to the press conference, I found it

interesting that Bill said that every position on the roster has competition this year (or something along those lines), except Safety.

I think he then added that we have some "options" . . . . I am assuming it's with respect to that position.

BP admitted that with Woody that if there was any way for Woody to be ready, that he would be. Woody is that type of competitor. But obviously BP also "suggested" that maybe things with Woody's injury may not work out.

Given all of this, what are the chances of bringing in some competition fairly soon at Safety for Dixon and Davis?

(Also, didn't BP say that Lynn Scott was primarily a Special Teams guy?)

I can't believe that BP wouldn't hedge himself in case there were complications with Woody's injury or simply that Dixon could not cement down the position.

Opinions?

I would hope Parcells said that Lynn Scott is ONLY a special teams guy.

Yhea, I remember that.

But I hope that's not the case.

It's odd that the 1 position (according to BP) where we have no new competition is Safety, yet one of our starters at that position as a surgury requiring injury.

maybe it means they have supreme confidence in somebody here, or maybe they are 100% sure Woodson is going to be fine

either way it doesnt matter, one safety spot isnt critical to this teams success of failure, especially when the one thing we can count on is Roy Williams

Maybe because it is what it is. They are just now having to deal with Woodson's injury. There hasn't been a lot of time to bring in a quality vet especially since there aren't many just lying around. With the salary cap and roster limits, you will end up with certain limits on the number of quality players availbable for every position. This year appears to be the defensive backfield.

Roy can't play both S positions...For him and our D to exceed, we need a quality guy to play FS...

Roy needs to attack, at our near ther LOS.

I don't worry about Dixon, he played well last year, but isn't a true FS ether...I hope Davis gets a shot as he has some ball hawking skills the others don't...although short for a S at 5-11ish...
