for all the Derek Ross fans
and people who thought BP cut him just because he was a knucklehead, think again
Ross is currently buried 4th or 5th on the Falcons depth chart...the new coaching staff gave no thought to Ross possibly being a starter and instead went out and grossly overpaid for average midgit CB Jason Webster to start at one spot, then drafted current holdout Deangelo Hall to start at the other...with Hall holding out did Ross move up? nope...the greatness that is Todd McBride did...did Ross move into the nickel defense? nope...Allen Rossum did...
Ross probably isnt even going to make the Falcons roster, and they had one of the worst pass defenses in football last yr

He may be a knucklehead but he was the most talented DB we have had (pre Newman) since Deion.
If he ever gets his act together he has the talent to be a very good corner in the NFL.

That's really more of an indictment against the lack of emphasis the Cowboys have placed on that position in recent years. When the best of the group include an old Ryan McNeill an injured Bryant Westbrook and an undisciplined headcase like Ross, you're point makes the Cowboys front office look pathetic.
"Young man, when you throw a strike, Mr. Hornsby will let you know."
Bill Klem when a pitcher questioned a called ball to Rogers Hornsby.

If released from the Falcons, its hard to believe he'll stay unemployed long with that "- More talented than Dewayne Goodrich and Duane Hawthorne" bulletpoint on his resume.

put down the Ricky Williams bong please
Ross is not even close to being as physically gifted as Terrance Newman...even Pete Hunter ps physically more gifted than Ross...
Ross was big and had very good ball skills, but his technique and speed just werent there

Ross is a talented CB he is just a knucklehead. His act is likely part of why he is down the depth chart in ATL. We saw Ross play and he can play. He breaks on the ball and can run with WRs.
To suggest he sucks is just a lack of football awareness. It doesnt suprise me that the same folks saying that are saying QC sucks.

You could have left off the QC agenda part of your post and I would agree with you 100%.
If I remember there were plenty that were upset at the loss of Ross.

Ross was terrible last yr in training camp and preseason with us...Ross was abolsutely putrid with the Falcons once he got here last yr
he just doesnt have the speed or the technique to match up. with good WR's..he had a good rookie yr for us but his only real strength is ability to play the ball (and he has decent hands)

if he was half as talented as some here seem to think, Parcells wouldnt have got rid of him...the proof is the fact that Antonio Bryant is still here
