Has Ahmad Brooks declared ?
I don't see if he said he is coming out or staying in school another year.

Its unlikely he comes out. He was hurt all year. Only played 6 games. Very overweight. His stock is at an all time low. Kai Parham is a better player anyway.

I don't know how he would not be. Brooks is a monster. If Brooks were there and he checked out on the medical, I would probably not hasitate. He is a player IMO.

I'd rather take Parham. He's just as good but without all the hassle and issues. Plus I don't see Brooks coming out this year. I'm not a fan of drafting thugs, or bad apples so i'd like to avoid Brooks who reminds me of Lavar Arrington waitign to happen.

I don't know that I would agree that Parham is just as good. For one, I think there's probably 15 pounds difference there. I think Parham is a very good player but I don't think he's Brooks.
The one thing I will agree with you on is that I don't like trouble waiting to happen. I don't know if Brooks is that yet or not. I haven't heard enough to know for sure how that really works. I know this, if there are issues, we'll know all there is to know about them. Same kind of stuff was said about Canty last year and we made what appears to be a golden choice on him. I like Brooks. We will see what comes out.

Yeah, because Brooks is 20 lbs. overweight. He looked really fat and slow this year.

Possibly, we'll see what the truth is. Regardless, Brooks is the better player IMO. I will conceed that he could be trouble so it's wise to do the homework but honestly, if we don't get the real story on any player from Virginia, we might as well pack it in.

What exactly seperates Brooks from any other LB prospect out there?
Brooks doesn't eat up blocks nor does he get off of them well. He isn't great in coverage either. The one positive I find in his game is that he is a very good blitzer.
Lets be honest, if Brooks wasn't a physical freak, who would care about him? He put in a nice 40 time on his 6'4 250lbs. frame and suddenly he is the next Butkus.
Brooks has done NOTHING over the course of his career that an average college LB would, maybe less than.

Brooks is no Merriman IMO.
But to talk about him as though he is just average or less is silly.
