Cowboys Special Teams coach worked him out not the WR coach.
He'll be a punt returner day 1.
Was a QB in high school like Crayton.
Has played some RB in college.
But I still don't know what any team saw Thursday night that would have made them comfortable with waiting a round or two for the offensive lineman they wanted. ---Todd McShay
We just converted half our LB to DL. We have a 30m starting DL, it better be pretty friggin good.

This kid has all kinds of moves, he's quick, he's a good solid pick, IMHO.
The boys need someone that can be a threat on ST, they finally have one.

#125 4th Round Pick - Skyler Green WR - LSU
Great pickup! this completes the draft for me.
I have been looking for someone who can punt return for these team. This guy can win some games when the rest of the team is having a bad game.
For years we have had serviceable PR, we now have a legitmate specialist.

He can also throw the ball, maybe another version of Randal-El.

Background
Skyler Green attended Higgins High School in Louisiana where he was an option quarterback. As a senior, Green rushed for 2,174 yards on 194 attempts. He led Higgins to the playoffs where Green passed for 124 yards and rushed for 224 yards in a losing effort against Catholic High School. Skyler was named first team all-state and district MVP for his performance as a senior. He accepted a scholarship to play receiver at LSU. Sklyer saw action as a true freshman when current New Orleans Saints’ receiver Devery Henderson suffered a broken arm against Ole Miss. He finished his freshman season with 7 receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown. He also carried the ball 3 times for 28 yards on the year. As a sophomore, Skyler emerged as a threat not only as a receiver, but as a return specialist as well. He led the nation with 18.5 yards per punt return and took two kicks back for touchdowns. He also had career highs in receptions (48), receiving yards (519) and receiving touchdowns (5). Skyler was named first team all-American for his play as a return specialist that season. Prior to his junior season, Skyler injured his ankle. He injured it again in the season opener but continued to play through the pain. He ranked fourth in the SEC, averaging just under 10 yards per punt return, with one touchdown on the season. He also caught 24 passes for 219 yards and three more touchdowns. He was named honorable mention all-SEC for his play as a junior. As a senior, Skyler averaged 13.3 yards per punt return, scoring one touchdown on the year. He also averaged just under 20 yards per kick return on 18 attempts. As a receiver, Skyler caught 32 passes for 268 yards on the season.
Analysis
Skyler Green has a great deal of experience against top competition having played in the SEC the past four years. He possesses a great combination of speed and athleticism for a receiver. He is extremely quick off the line and has the speed to beat most defenders deep. He has great hands and does a good job of adjusting to the ball while it is in the air. Once he has the ball in his hands, he is very elusive in the open field and is a threat to take it the distance at any time. He has also been one of the most dangerous return men in the nation over the past few seasons. Skyler lacks ideal height for a receiver, but he has very good strength for a player his size. He needs to improve his blocking to become a more complete receiver at the next level. Skyler Green is a player who can step in from day one as a return specialist and possibly as a slot receiver as well. He could be selected as high as the third or fourth round in April.

I believe so. From watching him in the SEC, he was always a homerun threat every time he touched the ball. Unlike Tyson Thompson, Green has moves in open space to go along with his speed. A great pick up IMO, but he still would have been available in round 5 or 6.

Guess I kinda got a little spoiled with the draft we had last year. Definately not having the looks of last year's draft, even if you throw out the Spears pick. I like Carpenter, I think Fasano will be a decent TE, but did we need a TE in the 2nd when there was much, much more out there we needed? We'll see how it goes, I am not real happy with the picks, but only time will tell.
